LONDON—The identity of the U.S. government’s star witness in a high-profile trial—who subsequently fell out of a fifth-story Moscow window—was compromised in the course of a pro-Kremlin disinformation campaign run by Natalia Veselnitskaya, according to leaked emails.

The Russian lawyer who took part in the infamous Trump Tower meeting with senior Trump campaign officials was part of a secretive campaign on American soil that—according to the emails—may also have involved contempt of court and the violation of lobbying laws. She already has been indicted by the Southern District of New York on obstruction of justice charges.

A cache of emails obtained by the Dossier Center, which is a Russian opposition organization based in London, exposes the depth of foreign asset entanglement in Trump’s America at the precise moment that the president’s dealings with Ukrainian officials threaten to pull the Department of Justice and State Department into an unseemly impeachment fight.

It was later reported in the Russian media that the witness—Nikolai Gorokhov—had fallen five floors from an apartment building in Moscow. He survived with a fractured skull. He said his fall was no accident, but could not remember exactly what happened.

Let's mention things people are interested in and act like they're really important to the story.

You know, while all the Trumpian machinations were going on, a prominent Slavic scholar focusing on eastern European countries and who was known to opposed Trump died unexpectedly.

That sounds much more alluring than "A scholar of Polish language and literature, who as a young Jewish boy was arrested and exiled to a Soviet camp during the pre-WWII occupation of Poland by Russia, died peacefully of a heart attack." Or, as he had put it in his bio, he was a kid who was saved from the horrors of 9th grade by being given refuge in the USSR. (Hhis father was deemed an enemy of the occupying power for his thought crimes against the One True Ideology, esp. what he said before the One True Ideology assumed benevolent oversight in the country, so the boy was punished, too, in the spirit of true ideological warfare. In the end, though, he was allowed to go to school and college and did become a noted Slavic scholar. I used--didn't like, but used--his languagetextbook, found his intermediate language-learning materials acceptable, and had to read a fair amount of his work in my West Slavic and Comparative Slavic classes.)

5. My error was reading 'tRump Tower Russian's' as 'tRump Tower Russia' illegal lobbying effots.

I just thought initially that there was info showing we could place Veselnitskaya with tRump Russia business efforts previous to the clown meeting during the campaign.

All the components of the international scandals are important, but there are a lot of moving parts. I'm very interested in the anti Putin / Stalin eastern bloc groups. I'm sorry to hear about the death of the professor.
