U.S. official says drone and missile attack on Saudi Arabia was launched from Iran

Source: CBS News

The United States has identified the exact locations in Iran from which a combination of more than 20 drones and cruise missiles were launched against Saudi oil facilities over the weekend, a senior U.S. official told CBS News national security correspondent David Martin on Monday. The official said the locations are in southern Iran, at the northern end of the Persian Gulf.

Saudi Arabia's air defenses have been aimed south for months, to protect against missile attacks launched by Iranian-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen, so they were useless against the missiles and drones coming in from the north, the official told Martin.

One of the missiles flew through Kuwait's airspace and the U.S. is working with a number of other countries to analyze data on the attack, which could help make the case against Iran.

A U.S. team has been on the ground at the oil facilities and identified the specific types of drones and cruise missiles fired, Martin reported. The wreckage was moved to a facility outside the Saudi capital of Riyadh, where it will be used to make what one U.S. official called, "a very compelling forensic case" that Iran launched "a complex and coordinated attack" on Saudi Arabia.

the US Navy would have heavy radar presence and there is no way they wouldn't have picked up the incoming signals.

https://truthout.org/articles/lies-about-iran-killing-us-troops-in-iraq-are-a-ploy-to-justify-war/

One of the many myths that have been used to justify the push for war with Iran led by National Security Adviser John Bolton and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is that Tehran is responsible for the killing of more than 600 U.S. troops during the Iraq War.

Special Representative for Iran Brian Hook, whose job is to round up international support for the Trump administration’s campaign of “maximum pressure” on Iran, presented the charge at a State Department press briefing on April 2. “I can announce today, based on declassified U.S. military reports,” Hook said, “that Iran is responsible for the deaths of 608 American service members. This accounts for 17 percent of all deaths of U.S. personnel in Iraq from 2003 to 2011.”

Navy Commander Sean Robertson followed up with an email to media outlets pushing that same line. When this writer asked Robertson for further clarification of the origins of that figure, however, he acknowledged that the Pentagon doesn’t have any study, documentation, or data to provide journalists that would support such a figure.

Or this is a steaming pile of bovine excrement, like Iraq's WMDs and Mexico will pay for the wall.

and large bases in Qatar and Bahrain to get to Saudi Arabia, so it's probably not what they're claiming. The US leads on drone warfare, so of course we would have defenses to detect and stop drones. It's very hard to believe that Iran could or would brazenly send drones to Saudi Arabia and successfully take out oil fields.

The *ONLY* legitimate use of the United States military, or taxpayer dollars, is defense of our own borders.
The entire middle east is not worth one taxpayer cent or drop of American blood.

For instance, we have treaties such as with NATO or Taiwan that state we'll use military force in their defense even if we ourselves aren't attacked.

In this case, though, Saudi can handle its own problems. That's not how it will go, but that's how it should go.

months ago. Several ex Obama Administration Diplomatic and Intelligence people have warned of these recent events.

Bush and Cheney created this POS with their ideals of being a War Presidential Administration going back to statements in 1997 by Bush himself. Again,Oil was and is the bottom line and who or whom controls the worlds largest Oil Deposits. Now that region is blowing up in real time because of the creation of instability Politically.

Out Nation created ISIS in the Jails of Iraq by our treatment of POW's. Never forget,we are a nation of about 400 years of History and Iraq and Iran have a History of close to 4 thousand years and that Region being Tribalistic, memories of persecution are lasting.

Its also quite far from Yemen.
But it seems there would be satellite pics maybe? Or something like that? What about "parts" from the damaged sites?
