Air Force says it sent crews to Trump's Scottish resort up to 40 times

Source: Politico

The U.S. Air Force has lodged crews at President Donald Trump’s Scotland resort up to 40 times since 2015, a figure that is far higher than previously known.

The tally represents the preliminary results of an Air Force review launched after POLITICO reported last week that an Air National Guard crew stayed at Turnberry in March. Congressional Democrats have also been investigating military stays at the property, but have yet to receive any information from the Pentagon.

The figure does not indicate how many of the stays have occurred since Trump became president. But the Air Force has significantly ramped up its overnight stops in Scotland under Trump after signing a contract with the Prestwick Airport — situated 20-plus miles from Turnberry — in the waning months of the Obama administration. Since 2015, the service has lodged crews in the area 659 times, meaning up to 6 percent of those stays were at Turnberry.

The figure also does not account for the total number of people the Air Force has put up at Trump Turnberry during those roughly 40 stays. POLITICO previously reported that Air Force crews of five to nearly 40 people have lodged at Trump's waterside property over at least four stays since September 2018.

desperately in need of auditing. Most taxpayer money goes to the military, and they are passing some on to tRump? HOW is this allowed to happen? How else is tRump ripping off the taxpayers? Bill Clinton's "law breaking" impeachment crimes pale in comparison to the orange ass. Imagine a democratic president doing even a fraction of this orange mistake misdeeds, and the gop would be screaming bloody murder. Something has to be done FAST.

I guess I’m not seeing why they couldn’t fly another hour to the base near Cambridge instead of eating up funding at businesses in Scotland. It doesn’t make sense, unless there is some type of surveillance facility nearby or something of the sort...

to wonder what's going on at hotels in the area. Taxpayers are forking over for a lot of transportation that, on the surface, seems possibly not very related to military readiness.

“the service has lodged crews in the area 659 times, meaning up to 6 percent of those stays were at Turnberry.”???

Is that just poor writing or am I missing something? How does lodging crews 659 times have anything to do with numbers of stays at Turnberry, much less a specific amount like 6%?

“Experts” spouting out facts that make no sense without context. I hear it all the time on science shows. A non-scientist will say something like “the universe is expanding at a rate of 3.6 percent...”, but not mention a time frame. What, every day? Every decade? Every millennium? It’s a figure totally devoid of meaning without a time frame,

Well, except to indicate that the universe is, in fact, expanding.

40 Turnberry stays / 659 area stays equals 6%.

They're probably trying to gloss over the use of Turnberry by saying that only a small percentage of their stays were there.

Amazing...I am really hoping that the military did not make the decision, that instead it was one of the crooks in the administration who bypassed the military, it is a very dangerous thing when the military becomes part of the corruption.
