Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said Monday that the Trump administration would consider proposing a package of tax cuts in 2020, trumpeting the strength of the U.S. economy despite the ominous financial indicators of recent weeks.
I think theres no question the U.S. economy is in very good shape. As we look around the world, theres no question that China is slowing, Europe is slowing the U.S. is the bright spot of the world, Mnuchin told reporters.
And regards to a middle class tax cut, you know, well be looking at tax cuts 2.0, something that will be something well consider next year, he continued. But right now, the economy is in very, very good shape.
President Donald Trump first teased the prospect of a major tax cut for middle-income people ahead of the 2018 midterm elections, following up on the $1.5 trillion Republican tax bill he signed into law in December 2017. While the proposal was a major talking point of the president's in the run-up to the midterm elections, Trump has seldom discussed it since.

That's adding insult to injury and the Ministry of Truth and Ministry of Plenty are faltering a bit in their newspeak.
Bright spot of the world? I chuckle in his general direction. America is gradually becoming like a 3rd-World country and Chernobyl is becoming a great place to vacation.

(12,712 posts)is a NEVER ENOUGH thing. Really.
Hey, you know, I may be worth $10-billion, but, well, another $10-billion is really where I want to be and so-and-so has $100-billion, so...
I know there are other factors, (power, control, vast holdings) but the greed is insatiable and seems to be like a drug addiction, so I have no desire for that.
Meanwhile, they could drain everything dry or end up owning everything, (or both) if they are allowed to continue in the cupidity of their relentless pursuit. We are sacrificing a lot for their addictions while they are being enabled.
So, yeah. More is the American way for some. More is better. Consume mass quantities.
