House Democrats Announce Investigation of Pence's Ireland Trip

Source: Mother Jones

The House Oversight and Judiciary committees have launched inquiries into efforts by President Donald Trump, Vice President Mike Pence and others to spend taxpayer funds at properties that Trump owns—a move the lawmakers say is part of their broader investigation into corruption by the administration.

The Oversight Committee sent letters Thursday to the White House, the vice president’s office, the Secret Service, and the Trump Organization requesting documents related to Pence’s stay earlier this week at the Trump International Golf Links and Hotel in Doonbeg, Ireland. The Trump property is about 180 miles from Dublin, where Pence had meetings.

File this under, more tRump/Pence/KGOP corruption and greed. If you summed up all of the evil on Earth, conservatives would own at least 80% of it.

The Rump crime family set Pence up so that they could dump him from the ticket.

Yes... I am that crazy.

One of the big concerns with impeaching trump, although it should not be show stopper, was having Pence take on the presidency, so if he is gone, that is even better. Of course that opens the possibility for crazy Haley to take his place.

My goodness, what a party the republican party is, God created crooks & liars with no hearts and they all joined the republican party.

Suppose he can be tweeted into resigning the Vice Presidency. So far so good.

But that hamstrings the part of the 25th that starts "whenever the Vice President and...". Conveniently eliminates that path to removal.

Then the Orange Id has made it all about himself, no backup, just a Constitutional obligation to nominate a new VP that he can just ignore.

other than just documenting it. tRump and his Corruption, Inc. outfit is doing all sorts of stuff, but there seem to be no consequences directly against him.

When Pence or his aides try to protect themselves and say that they were told that they should stay at Trump's golf course rather than a reasonable place near where they had meetings, which they will do rather than face lying to Congress and FBI charges, this will be added to the impeachment articles.

If a $1,000 bribe could take down Agnew, then millions of dollars in kickbacks can take down the Trump crime family.

The second best part is that they will get Pence under oath to say that either he was incompetent and didn't know that it was an emoluments violation or that he knew it was wrong and caved anyway. That his claims that he is an honorable and God-fearing man are just window dressings towards a path to power.

Of course, I am also hoping that the Dems will do the same to Barr who claimed he did not know that the President suborning perjury was a crime. He either lied under oath or is the most incompetent lawyer ever.

the polite road is best. It almost feels permissive. I hope down the road tRump gets his ass handed to him. This criminal thug in office is setting the level and expectations of the presidency. He needs to be shown the door, and hopefully 2020 will kick his ass out of office. I'm really fed up with his and the rest endless bullshit.

Real potential for an expanding line of inquiry and individuals. And no doubt the committees already have plenty of material, and will be looking for public corroboration under oath.

I don't want a good conduct medal. I want my country back, and I want trump and his crime family unemployed and shamed. If that means fighting on their low level, then let it happen. We can play nice again, somewhere down the line.
