Florida man arrested in Walmart shooting threat called himself white nationalist in Facebook post

FBI agents waited more than an hour at the Winter Park home of Richard Dean Clayton’s parents before the 26-year-old entered unannounced through the back door.

The agents said Clayton, who had threatened to shoot up a Walmart, was “manic” — erratic, paranoid and profane.

Those details were included in a 77-page report recently filed in Orange County Circuit Court by the Winter Park Police Department. It is seeking to have Clayton banned from owning firearms or ammunition for one year under Florida’s “red flag” law, which allows the government to seize firearms of people deemed dangerous to themselves or others.

The new records, filed Aug. 21, also include other posts allegedly made by Clayton, including rants about social media censorship and one in which he describes himself as a white nationalist.

His Facebook postings will be used as the proof. I'm assuming that if convicted, the record of that conviction will permanently bar him from (legally) owning any firearms ever again. I would hope so, anyway.
