Wisconsin Republican Jim Sensenbrenner won't run for re-election in 2020 after more than 40 years in

Source: Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

Craig Gilbert, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Published 5:28 p.m. CT Sept. 4, 2019 | Updated 5:50 p.m. CT Sept. 4, 2019

Wisconsin Republican Jim Sensenbrenner, the second longest-serving member of the U.S. House of Representatives, will not run for a 22nd term, he said Wednesday.

Sensenbrenner made his first public announcement Wednesday on The Mark Belling Show on WISN-AM (1130).

In a separate interview with the Journal Sentinel, he said, “I think the time has come to basically turn over the page in the Fifth District.”

The 76-year-old congressman has long represented the GOP’s geographic base in Wisconsin — the suburban, exurban and rural communities north and west of Milwaukee County that historically turn out in droves for Republican candidates and provide a large share of the party’s activists and political leaders.........................................

Said Sensenbrenner:

“You can see the end of the line sometime. Being able to do this on my timetable rather than after a redistricting in 2022 will allow me to go out on a high note … This is just me feeling the time would be coming in the next few years, and I think this is the best time for me personally, and for both the Republican Party and for me politically.”

At 42 years, a Wisconsin milestone

Amazing story behind it, with this excerpt:

Gary DeCarlo, Singer Of 'Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye,' Dies At 75
June 30, 201710:09 AM ET

. . .

Writing for the New York Daily News in 2005, David Hinckley told the strange tale of how "Na Na Hey Hey Goodbye" came to be. DeCarlo had recorded four songs intended as singles for the Mercury label, and needed a throwaway song to place on the B-side for the first of these releases. To fill the role, Paul Leka, who had brought DeCarlo into the label fold and was producing his singles, called in an old friend, Dan Frashauer, and an abominable single that Leka and Frashauer had half-written years earlier.

The song was too bad to bother paying session musicians to play backup, so with DeCarlo singing and Leka on drums, the three filled up that B-side with a whole lot of vamping on "na na, hey hey, goodbye." The total recording is about four minutes long, but the chorus takes up about three of those minutes.

. . .

The song took on its usage as a taunt, now inseparable in the collective consciousness with that rising "na na NA na," when Chicago White Sox organist Nancy Faust began using it for recalled pitchers in 1977.

The barely-existent Steam only had one other chart placement: the single "I've Gotta Make You Love Me", which peaked at No. 46.

It was only in 2011 that DeCarlo's contribution to "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye" was widely acknowledged, in a PBS special featuring music of the 1960s.

In an interview earlier this year, DeCarlo said that he was happy to hear Democrats in Congress employing the now-weaponized chorus to taunt Republicans over a failed repeal of the Affordable Care Act, despite saying the law was "not very good." Why? "It's like they say," he replied, "no exposure is bad exposure."

And to the end, DeCarlo loved playing up his big hit: his Twitter handle was @nanagoodbye1.

I'd be surprised that one didn't have fleas on the list of problems. After a while, I realized that an animal could be in such bad shape that even fleas had to abandon it. All these GOP defectors remind me of the fleas jumping off...which means they find the GOP so diseased that they can't live there anymore. That GOP is one sick puppy!

Sometimes I wonder if the (r)epuglicons and their handlers haven't planned this little fiasco.

Poison the well in DC and escape to gated communities. Wait for some dem to rescue the country and then attack again. Profit all the time.

WASHINGTON —

The Republican House Judiciary Committee chairman walked off with the gavel Friday, leaving Democrats shouting into turned-off microphones at a raucous hearing on the Patriot Act.

The hearing, with the two sides accusing each other of being irresponsible and undemocratic, came as President Bush was urging Congress to renew the sections of the post-Sept. 11 counter-terrorism law set to expire in September.

Rep. F. James Sensenbrenner Jr. (R-Wis.), chairman of the panel, abruptly gaveled the meeting to an end and walked out, followed by other Republicans. Sensenbrenner said that much of the testimony, which veered into debate over the detainees at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, was irrelevant.

Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) protested, raising his voice as his microphone went off, came back on, and went off again.

We really need the Senate so we can send Moscow Mitch to the back bench. If Trump loses and Democrats take control of the Senate, maybe Mitch would just resign. He won’t like not being able to obstruct government at his whim.

Here is a list of people that have left drumpfs administration,,it is unbelievable,,,,
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Trump_administration_dismissals_and_resignations

Now compare that with Obama lol,,,most people stayed with Obama during his term,,or at least for 2 or three years..https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Presidency_of_Barack_Obama

Not many stayed with drumpf for more than a year..or less..and this is what he calls draining the swamp?
Republicans have been dropping like flies since he took office and they keep saying he has a 80% approval rating,,however, when you stop and think about it,,there are only 24% of American's that are republicans. When they poll it's usually only a 1000 people lol
