President Donald Trump on Wednesday displayed a map of Hurricane Dorians path that appeared to feature a bubble scribbled on to include Alabama, a state which Trump had earlier insisted, against direct proof, would be hit.
For reference, heres a zoomed-in picture of Trumps map:

It was going to be hitting directly, and it would have affected a lot of other states, Trump said in the Oval Office Wednesday, alongside Acting DHS Secretary Kevin McAleenan. But that was the original chart. You see, it was going to hit not only Florida, but Georgia. It was going toward the Gulf. That was what was originally projected.
And heres Dorians official path from the National Hurricane Center website (though the storm moves, it never crosses Alabamas border and there is no black bubble):
National Hurricane Center
Since Sunday morning, Trump repeatedly and emphatically insisted that Hurricane Dorian could hit Alabama, even as meteorologists from the local and federal level aka his own weather service refuted the claim..........................

(11,517 posts)and POSSIBLY reforming in the Gulf of Mexico (I recall seeing this on some of the computer models). This, as I recall, was when Dorian was still a tropical storm and there was still a ton of uncertainty as to its' path.
HOWEVER, this had all changed by the time tRump issued his proclamation, he apparently never bothered to get recent information. Add to that the fact that someone had 'doctored' the forecast map to align with his proclamation - you really gotta' wonder.

(2,227 posts)He should have warned Kansas and Oklahoma. He has rabid supporters in those states too, with which he could "connect". It could have hit them if it had continued in a straight line (which they never do).
And if they were comparing 10 to 15 different lines of projected paths from different global weather services, show the weather service cone map of possible impact that included Alabama.
No, he was on camera (which he LOVES to be), speaking off the cuff, made shit up to impress his knuckledraggers, and blew it in a bigly way.
And before he would admit he made a mistake, he doubled down, and probably forced an underling to draw the extension. He forced an underling to break the law. It is illegal to alter official weather prediction maps for the purpose of disinformation.
None of the weather services put out that prediction map.
We need to know WHO did it, and were they told to do it by turdface.

(3,115 posts)He said, "The hurricane is going to go straight through Florida, and then to Georgia and Alabama on the right."
On the right? So they're in the middle of the ocean? Worthless shit for brains.

man ever. Ray played ball w/the kids, was very smart, a WW II vet, also he supported education,
civil rights, infrastructure, the environment, unions, and he was truly kind. Nixon had him look @
marijuana in the early 1970s so Ray got good people and looked at it and told Nixon that he should
just legalize it because we had a lot of more important problems. Nixon blew him off because pot
was a way to put blacks and hippies in jail. BTW Ray was republican.
This current group seems to be raised on Fox, Rush, and Newt and they don't give a shit about
America or the world. "They" have to know that Don is nuttier than squirrel turds but "they" get
their tax cuts, pack the courts, and get to taste sweet liberal tears.

(70,476 posts)In trying to divide America that is. The anti NFL player kneeling web sites were out of St. Petersburg, Russia. Stand for flag, stand for the troops, and stand for the anthem were all Russian operations and Trump even gave the web addresses to those sites too.
I wonder how much Fox news and Hannity are involved? Trump is an idiot no doubt but we are up against a massive operation that is so big that I can't get my head around it all. This is the biggest crime in America's history.

Seriously tho, even when the track showed Dorian heading into the Gulf it wasn't headed to Alabama.
I mean why lie about this. Just say mistakes were made and move on.

(28,246 posts)What abominable, illegal, unspeakable actions need to be committed, beyond the open-and-obvious travesties already recorded, for this dirty little man to be swept out of office? Remember back in the Good Old Days---a couple of years ago---when we had some standards of behavior, and a sense of outrage when those standards were breached? Are we now so tired and corrupted that trump can do what he damn well pleases, without fear of reprisal? You have to ask yourself: Is trump what we deserve?
