Trump administration poised to tap military construction funds to build wall
Source: CNN
The Trump administration is preparing to take money from military construction funds more than six months after first promising to do so in order to build sections of the wall along the US-Mexico border, according to multiple administration and defense officials.
Though it's unclear which military construction would be put on hold, the move could put at risk projects such as command and control, drone, cyber and training facilities in the US and overseas.
White House officials have held talks in the last weeks to begin planning for the move, two administration officials said, which would shift funds from the Department of Defense's military construction budget to fund the border wall. The move would rely on President Donald Trump's February emergency declaration, which has faced stiff legal challenges.
In July, however, the Supreme Court cleared the way for the Trump administration to use $2.5 billion in counter-drug funding from the Department of Defense to construct parts of the wall while a court battle plays out over whether the government had the authority to divert funds that were not appropriated for the wall.

Maybe we all need to find a date to just show up at the steps of Congress, along with showing up at the White House, and refuse to leave till he's gone.

More than 120 U.S. military construction projects to be hit by funding for border wall
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - More than 120 U.S. military construction projects will be adversely affected as the Pentagon prepares to use $3.6 billion to help build or enhance parts of the border wall with Mexico, U.S. officials said on Tuesday.
Earlier this year, President Donald Trump declared a national emergency in a bid to fund his promised wall at the U.S.-Mexico border.

On Tuesday, Pentagon officials said 127 would be impacted and the first $1.8 billion would come from deferred military construction projects outside the United States. The second tranche would come from deferred military projects inside the United States, the officials said.
Department of Defense components and military departments provided input and prioritized projects based on affects on readiness and consistency with the national defense strategy, Pentagon spokesman Jonathan Hoffman told reporters.

Mitch McConnell violated the US Constitution in blacking Merrick Garland and they just don't care
all the time waving their American flags while talking about freedom and being patriotic.
When and if Trump tries this move it will be struck down in court. I might be wrong but Trump
knows that the wall will never be built but he has to keep up his bluster to appease his base.

.....................Pappas and other officials couldnt say how soon or by how many the troop numbers could go down. Pentagon spokesman Jonanthan Hoffman said the troops would remain at the border for as long as they are needed. It could depend in part on the number of attempted border crossings by migrants and other issues.
The American Civil Liberties Union said Tuesday that it would seek a court order blocking use of the funds as part of its lawsuit challenging the presidents abuse of emergency powers to secure funds Congress had denied.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - More than 120 U.S. military construction projects will be adversely affected as the Pentagon prepares to use $3.6 billion to help build or enhance 175 miles (282 km) of the border wall with Mexico, U.S. officials said on Tuesday.
Earlier this year, President Donald Trump declared a national emergency in a bid to fund his promised wall at the U.S.-Mexico border.
The emergency declaration allows the Trump administration to use money from the military construction budget and the Pentagon has said it could use $3.6 billion from the budget.
In March, the Pentagon provided Congress with a broad list of projects that could be affected, but did not provide details.
