A 14-year-old confessed to shooting all five members of his family in an Alabama residence, authorities said.
The teen was "assisting investigators in locating the weapon, a 9mm handgun that he said he tossed nearby," the Limestone County Sheriff's Office said in a tweet.
Earlier Tuesday, the sheriff's office said three of the five people shot in the Elkmont residence were confirmed dead at the scene and two were airlifted in critical condition.
The office later confirmed the two people in critical condition died.

Hell, no, a 14 yo could not have readily accomplished this slaughter with anything other than a gun.
RIP, latest victims of our out-of-control gun policies. You have/had no rights, but thank heavens we didn't infringe on those of a 14 yo boy.

(61,695 posts)They rationalize the death by gun tragedy so bizarrely.
How did the owner allow the weapon to be accessed by a minor?
Was this an AR15 he used? I think we can reasonably assume it was a boy who did this. I don't think I've ever heard of a 14 year old girl doing this.

(61,695 posts)Insanity this weekend, plus, I have so much happening at home.
For example, I had heard about the Alabama Twitter comment, but not that he had started tweeting/arguing with the weather service about their correction, and that AL should be prepared due to their proximity to FL. As Joe Scab put it this morning, the only thing Alabama should be worried about is Clemson.
Around 90% of all firearm related homicides are committed with handguns. All rifles (the category AR-15s would be in) account for less than 4% of firearm deaths.
