Trump struggles to pronounce various words during rambling speech to veterans

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by Yonnie3 (a host of the Latest Breaking News forum).

Donald Trump struggled to pronounce a series of words in front of military veterans during a rambling speech that ranged from attacks on media outlets he disagrees with to threats to release Isis militants into Europe

Wednesday’s official event in Louisville, Kentucky, nominally used to announce a cancellation of student debt owed by permanently disabled US veterans, at times resembled a Trump campaign rally, and saw the president repeatedly stumble over lines read out from a teleprompter.

It followed an extraordinary huddle with reporters earlier in the day outside the White House in which Mr Trump attacked the Danish prime minister for rejecting his advances over Greenland, referred to himself as the “Chosen One”, suggested he could change the constitution to abolish birthright citizenship and talked about serving another 14 years as president.

“We're holding thousands of Isis fighters right now - prisoners. And we're going to give them to, from where they came. The Europe (sic), certain countries in Europe, they got to take them back because we don't want to hold them,” Mr Trump said in reference to America's presence in Syria.

Touting the US military’s global pre-eminence, Mr Trump appeared to repeatedly struggle with the word “forces”, before mangling the name of Douglas MacArthur, a prominent Second World War general.

I should know, it happened to me. Only my father noticed my speech patterns. When I finally had my Stroke, the Doctors suggested that I must have had several silent "Mini-strokes" (TIA) that I failed to notice/ do anything about. They are warning signs that should not be ignored. It's just a matter of Time.

...his keepers will continue to prop him up and let him out in public.

Meanwhile too many (not all, but too many) in the media will say he's Trump being Trump, as one young idiot did yesterday standing in the sunshine after the chopper talk. I turned off the tv -- I will not stand for that.

What is it going to take?! He has to fall over in public in front of that goddam helicopter and not be able to get up even with help. There has to be a stretcher and ambulance involved, destination Walter Reed with real doctors who cannot be bribed to lie. There have to be cameras and cellphones recording everything.

A thousand curses on Mitch McConnell, the entire Trump clan, and the GOP.

All disabled Vets are permanently disabled. If it is temporary, it is fixed and they aren't considered disabled anymore. I'm wondering if they are referring to 100% disabled. That's the criteria for most half decent VA benefits.

You can lose an arm or hand and still not be considered 100% disabled.

Back in the Nixon era he had a very famous Secretary of State (and highly esteemed in Republican circles, as well as high society), Henry Kissinger.
Ironically enough, Germany had a Chancellor, Helmut Schmidt, who was born and raised in Germany.

Listening to the two of them speak English, it would sound like Kissinger was the Chancellor, and Helmut was an American born in Kansas and serving the United States with honor!

DISCLAIMER: I speak 1 language - English. I have great admiration for those that speak more than one, which tends to be a rather common characteristic of many throughout the world. I do NOT believe the ability of any person to handle a "foreign" language to be a gauge to their intelligence, or their political inclinations. I respect those that have mastered more than 1 language and honor their ability to do so.
