... a day after he said they were on the table
President Donald Trump said on Wednesday he isn't considering payroll tax cuts to juice the economy with extra consumer cash, only a day after he said they were on the table.
Trump told reporters at the White House that cutting payroll taxes wasn't necessary given the American economy's strength and downplayed fears of a recession.
"I'm not looking at a tax cut now," he said. "We don't need it. We have a strong economy."
The Trump administration has struggled keeping its economic message straight in recent days. Trump had said on Tuesday that temporarily reducing the payroll tax was among the options the administration considered to bolster the economy, along with a change to capital gains taxes which would benefit investors.

(1,241 posts)Trump is talking non-sense about the economy and tax cuts.
Trump is talking non-sense about background checks for guns.
Trump is talking non-sense about "I am the chosen one".
Trump is talking non-sense about purchasing Greenland.
While everyone is consumed with Trump's non-sense, what is the Administration really up to? These all appear to be red herrings thrown out there to attract attention away from some planned assault on our way of life.

(11,885 posts)I think Putin is pissed at him, and he knows that could be very , very bad for him trying to get illegitimately elected again, plus he'd be facing prison. He also may be acting out for a future insanity defense , and now knows its coming out soon against him. He does that a lot to before really bad news is about to expose him. That's why he's floating the G7 to G8 thing probably, and will try lifting their sanction by declaration maybe soon. He's acting desperate, and panicky for a reason. He also has lied so much its getting harder for him to keep up with them all.

(6,931 posts)If you going to try and GUT Social Security and Medicare from the inside out like he'd doing with the ACA it's best to wait until after Nov 3rd 2020.
Nah...he'll just go ahead with his huge capital gains tax cut so the rich can make millions in the stock market and pay almost a ZERO tax rate. That's what Bush.IDIOT fought for for years.
