Trump defends sharing Clinton-Epstein conspiracy theory
Source: Politico
President Donald Trump on Tuesday defended his decision to share a tweet suggesting Bill and Hillary Clinton were involved in financier Jeffrey Epsteins suicide, and stoked speculation about the former presidents relationship with the deceased convicted sex offender.
The retweet which is what it was, just a retweet was from somebody thats a very respected conservative pundit, so I think that was fine, Trump told reporters, referring to a conspiratorial message by comedian and commentator Terrence K. Williams he re-posted Saturday.
The president has been criticized in recent days for promulgating the unfounded theory that the Clintons had a hand in Epsteins death. Trump said Tuesday he had no idea whether the couple played a role in the high-profile prisoners demise and accused Bill Clinton of lying about the extent of his air travel on Epsteins planes.
I know he was on his plane 27 times, and he said he was on the plane four times, Trump said. But when they checked the plane logs, Bill Clinton who was a very good friend of Epstein he was on the plane about 27 or 28 times. So why did he say four times?

It's a textbook example of "alternate facts".

Fox called the trips (taken in connection to Clinton Foundation conferences in 2002-2003) "junkets" to make them sound nefarious and sinister.
Oh, and there were "Hollywood elites on board" for one of the 4 trips.
They are all involved in AIDS outreach and activism and were traveling to Africa with the former president to attend an AIDS prevention conference that the Clinton Foundation was sponsoring.

.........The question you have to ask is, did Bill Clinton go to the island? Because Epstein had an island. That was not a good place, as I understand it, and I was never there, Trump said Tuesday. So you have to ask, did Bill Clinton go to the island? Thats the question. If you find that out, youre going to know a lot.
President Clinton knows nothing about the terrible crimes Jeffrey Epstein pleaded guilty to in Florida some years ago, or those with which he has been recently charged in New York, Clinton spokesman Angel Ureña said last month. "Hes not spoken to Epstein in well over a decade, and has never been to Little St. James Island, Epsteins ranch in New Mexico, or his residence in Florida.
Ureña also hit back against Trump's effort to link the Clintons to Epstein's suicide, tweeting on Saturday: "Ridiculous, and of course not true and Donald Trump knows it. Has he triggered the 25th Amendment yet?"

(38,414 posts)Doubling down on the Clinton attack is hard to believe. This will convince some people to finally turn against
Trump, because the first time might have been a "mistake" but this time is a calculated attack.
..This totally irresponsible and an impeachable offense. Of course, Trump doesn't have the guts to admit the first time, "was a mistake" so he doubles down as always.
..Attacking Clinton when there is strong evidence of Trump being a friend of Epstein, shines the light on Trump, not Clinton. Trump does not have the intelligence or sanity to see that.
..Either way, Trump has made an error that defines his status as an out of control individual who must be removed from office as soon as possible

During Attorney General, William Barrs confirmation hearing, he was mostly peppered with questions about how he would handle the Mueller Report. Senator Ben Sasses (R-NE) questioning, however, diverged from the pack. Sasse asked Barr about the lenient sentence given out to billionaire pedophile, Jeffrey Epstein. The future Attorney General told Sasse that he would look into the matter.
This, however, was not the first connection between Barr and his family and the disgraced pedophile. In 1973, Barrs father Donald, the headmaster at Manhattans Dalton School, hired Epstein as a calculus and physics teacher.
While hiring Epstein, a noted mathematics genius, was not strange on its face, the hire was unusual for a number of reasons. Epstein had not earned a college degree as he dropped out of New Yorks prestigious Cooper Union. The other odd circumstance was that the new teacher was only 20 years of age.
Apparently, the hire was a successful one. The New Yorker wrote in a 2003 profile on Epstein, he was something of a Robin WilliamsinDead Poets Society type of figure, wowing his high-school classes with passionate mathematical riffs. Epsteins mathematical skills caught the eye of Bear Stearns chairman, Alan Ace Greenberg, whose son attended the Dalton School. Greenberg hired Epstein as an options trader and the former teacher was able to amass a fortune.

Barr mustve seen something in that young man, otherwise theres no logical rationale for the hire.
