4 dead, 2 wounded in Southern California stabbings

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A man who was “full of anger” went on a two-hour stabbing and robbery rampage in Southern California, killing four people and wounding two others, authorities said Wednesday.

The 33-year-old Garden Grove man was taken into custody after he came out of a 7-Eleven in Santa Ana, southeast of Los Angeles, and dropped a knife along with a handgun that he had taken from a guard, police said.

The violence appeared to be random and the only known motives seem to be “robbery, hate, homicide,” Garden Grove police Lt. Carl Whitney said at a news conference.

“We know this guy was full of anger and he harmed a lot of people tonight,” he said.

especially before any investigation takes place beyond initial crime scene review. What is so casual about 'hate'? Hate is one of our societies' biggest sources of all lethal crime right now.

2. The NRA will have a field day with this one... "gun ban wouldn't have prevented this."

4. Let them. That's what they do. The response to them should be as relentless as ever.

The weapons they advocate for still cause the most deaths, DAILY. If that idiot described in the above article had one of the military styled weapons the NRA advocates for, the deaths would have been in much higher numbers.

The NRA arguments don't resonate anymore. Each time they are used, they circulate less and less. They are idiots fighting a losing and outdated battle.

Yeah, I see no difference in gun massacres vs knife massacres either.

The gun enthusiasts have an unhealthy enthusiasm for knifings, poisonings, big car wrecks, etc. It speaks volumes about them and their cause.

9. As their point would be wholly irrelevant and a logical fallacy, it matters little.

A common method of the fallacy of false equivalence is when one shared trait between two subjects is assumed to show equivalence, especially in order of magnitude, when equivalence is not necessarily the logical result.

Allow the NRA their ineffective bumper stickers. It's all they really have left.

Small comfort to the victims and their families, certainly. But - I'd much rather take my chances with a knife-wielding maniac than a maniac with an assault weapon.
