NEW YORK (AP) MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace has apologized for falsely saying on her show that President Donald Trump was talking about exterminating Latinos.
She apologized Tuesday on Twitter for a comment she made on her show the day before. She tweeted that her mistake wasnt intentional and that she was sorry.
Wallace was responding to a remark by USA Today columnist Raul Reyes, who was a guest on her afternoon show. Reyes had noted that Trump has talked about an infestation through illegal immigration, and the natural conclusion is to attempt an extermination.
Wallace was a communications director for former President George W. Bush and has been a harsh critic of Trump.

(3,635 posts)As the guest said, the logical conclusion to infestation is extermination, as white supremacists have always believed.
The corporate media deliberately hides the truth about Trump, who is a fascist ass motherfucker, just like the voters who support him, and cheer on his evil.

(2,190 posts)I feel like she's done a lot to atone for that. And her interview of David Jolly the other day was very very good.
Steve Schmidt, likewise, has seemed to regret what he did.
I wonder sometimes what would have happened if McCain had been allowed to pick his first choice, Joe Lieberman.

in context, the remark was understandable. It was a stronger way of saying what Crooked Donald wants... maybe the mistake was not saying it was allegorical? I think she's said worse, btw, and rightfully so...

(43,036 posts)did he ever use the word "infestation"? I have no idea. To me that word is an escalation from "invasion" which is more casual.
I think the news media must use these opportunities to alert the public to the possibilities and grave nature of the path the country is on. So this was a public service Freudian slip.

It is a planned, pattern of speech designed as a bullhorn to his base...
