‘This is tough stuff’: At Texas detention facility, Pence sees hundreds of migrants crammed with no beds

By Josh Dawsey and Colby Itkowitz July 12 at 10:50 PM

MCALLEN, Tex. — When Vice President Pence visited a migrant detention center here Friday, he saw nearly 400 men crammed behind caged fences with not enough room for them all to lie down on the concrete ground. There were no mats or pillows for those who found the space to rest. A stench from body odor hung stale in the air.

When reporters toured the facility before Pence, the men screamed that they’d been held there 40 days, some longer. They said they were hungry and wanted to brush their teeth. It was sweltering hot, but the only water was outside the fences and they needed to ask permission from the Border Patrol agents to drink.

Pence appeared to scrunch his nose when entering the facility, stayed for a moment and left. A few minutes earlier, from a bird’s eye room called “The Bubble,” he’d seen 382 men packed into cells, peering against the windows to get a view of him. Some appeared shirtless.

The vice president toured two migrant holding facilities Friday with Republican senators in an effort to defend the administration’s handling of the migrant crisis following reports of inhumane conditions at the facilities.

He doesn’t resemble the actual Jesus in any way, but He is the Jesus that Pence and his ilk follow.

It's not the GOP Jesus' fault. It's the devil Democrats fault.

In other words, the GOP's caused it but of course blame always goes to the Democrats.

How these people are treated, is a reflection of the government of the U.S.A. Does the U.S.A. treat people with respect and dignity, or cruelty and hatred. If the exact same situation existed under Obama, that is rounding up immigrants and putting them in prison, (without a trial) would the conditions be the same or a lot better?
...and all prison conditions are actually much better than this.

How do they justify such indifference? They justify it by saying they deserve it since they are breaking the law. In regard to Pence, he is the personification of evil. He reeks with the self justice of an inquisitor who tortured people while sprinkling their blood soaked implements with holy water.

Pence can not allow himself to acknowledge any cruelty done by our dictator. Many of my family are evangelicals, they have said many times that the dictator has promised them he would tear down the wall of separation between church and state. With the promise of that kind of power in their hands they can justify and participate in any atrocity and bestow total loyalty at the feet of their beloved dictator!

The stench of the unwashed peasants.

Hard to even imagine how it smells to live in those cramped conditions.

12. There is no reason to withhold water, or even a shower to these people. How would you feel Pence?

I bet if they locked Pence and Trump up in a cage for 40 days they'd be smelling pretty ripe themselves.
