A House Dem Calls for Investigating Trump Sexual Assault Allegations as Her Colleagues Shrug

Source: DAILYBEAST

COLLECTIVE NUMBNESS

E. Jean Carroll’s allegations against Trump barely resonated on Capitol Hill. At least one of Trump’s other accusers is furious with Congress’ inaction.

Updated 06.26.19 3:45AM ET /

As yet another woman comes forward to accuse President Donald Trump of sexual assault, a Democratic member of Congress is now calling for a formal investigation into the roughly two dozen similar allegations against Trump.

Rep. Jackie Speier, a California Democrat who sits on the House’s Oversight and Reform Committee and is a leader on the Hill on sexual harassment, said Congress should look into these accusations after writer E. Jean Carroll published a book in which she detailed an alleged violent sexual encounter with Trump over 20 years ago.

“We do have a lot on our plates, so I can’t speak to when it’s going to happen,” said Speier in a brief interview with The Daily Beast on Tuesday. But she affirmed it was worth lawmakers’ time, especially in light of Carroll’s story.

“This particular case is particularly egregious, and there’s no reason not to believe the woman,” said Speier. “I think his problem is, he sees that as a way of wooing a woman and women see it as sexual assault or rape.”............................................................

How does the criminal justice system see it? If I see walking into a financial institution with a gun and demanding cash as a way of doing my personal banking does that suddenly make it ok?

Trump sees absolutely nothing wrong with assaulting women. He’s a monster.

The problem is that nobody has ever held him accountable for his crimes. That must change. Soon.

Talking about opening her mouth and calling out the hypocrisy of the republicans.
That’s in addition to opening her mouth and screaming about our abomination of a president.
She’s very good about opening her mouth and demanding justice, isn’t she?

sexual assault is like dating. He has probably always had to take his sexual gratification by force unless he paid for it. Donnie doesn't understand that rape & sexual assault are not about sexual desire, they are hate crimes and a fairly easy way for a loser like him to brutalize & humiliate women. It's just a bit of brutish fun to bring strong women down to size or to feed his pedophilic fantasies. When accused, he has often spouted his usual trumpian tag line, "I couldn't have done that..(committed sexual assault or rape) because she is not my type" no doubt adding a school boy snicker-snort and a wink-wink.

The only "type' donnie has is innocent and/or unwilling.

And this is a STATE CRIME.

If the State determines it wants to interview Donald Trump, he has no choice or recourse. He can be required to "come down to the headquarters" and he can be indicted and placed under arrest at any time. He has no federal protection here, just like he doesn't for NY State financial crimes. With her statement AND other people swearing under oath she told them this BACK THEN, charges could be filed and Trump would be forced to step down.

Why are the most vile, disgusting things given so little attention because it's "just Donald being Donald." Rape is not a shoulder rub (how many weeks was Biden ragged on for that?). Rape is not a funny photo on an airplane (Franken). There seems to be one standard for Democrats and no standards for the right, especially Trump.
