US: Once-secret Jeffrey Epstein sex offender deal must stand

Source: Associated Press

MIAMI (AP) — A once-secret plea deal reached a decade ago with wealthy convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein must stand, despite objections from many of his victims who were teenagers at the time, federal prosecutors said in a new court filing.

Prosecutors said a violation of the Crime Victims’ Rights Act does not allow for the agreement to be voided. Some of the victims claim the deal, known as a non-prosecution agreement or NPA, should be thrown out at least partially because they were not consulted as required under that law.

“The past cannot be undone; the government committed itself to the NPA, and the parties have not disputed that Epstein complied with its provisions,” prosecutors said.

Jack Scarola, an attorney for two victims who challenged the agreement in West Palm Beach federal court, said Tuesday that “the government has failed to comply with its own regulations” in the case.

Epsteins plea agreements came through illegal machinations.

And even if Epstein is protected by it, the judges and lawyers who arranged it should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

This wasn't a mistake in procedure. It was a concerted effort to subvert the law. It was a concerted effort to remove any of the women's rights and a concerted effort to make Epsteins plea deal, the fire wall between the case and the dozens - if not hundreds - of the wealthy and elite. The politicians the judges, the CEOs and royalty who he entertained and enjoyed his services.

As it is we have an insultingly pathetic sentence to a man who - according to the courts interpretation, ran a prostitution racket, which involved under age girls as well as crossing state lines, but which - apparently ran with no girls and no clients ?

“I've known Jeff (Epstein) for 15 years. Terrific guy,'' Trump told New York Magazine back in 2002. "He's a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt about it - Jeffrey enjoys his social life."

two wrongs DO make a right. Huh.

If I could buy my way out of my crimes, well, I should be
free do so, constitutionally, apparently, an established
right, regardless of the number of victims or the depth if the
damage incurred.

Go figure...... the BAD GUYS WIN AGAIN.

should not be indicative of future performance.

I have seen how this movie ends too many times.

The Bad Guys ride off into the sunset. And the good guys?

Well, the good guys are clearly just little people of no consequence.
