AG Bill Barr killed 7 Robert Mueller investigations -- 10 days after he submitted his report

Attorney General Bill Barr killed seven different investigations started by special counsel Robert Mueller just ten days after he submitted his report.
CNNs Katelyn Polantz had filed a request to unseal documents related to the special counsels investigation and on Monday the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia agreed.
Chief Judge Beryl A Howell ordered the release of multiple documents, including Attachment B, which listed information on applications for court orders requested by Mueller.
The 65-page document shows seven cases that were closed on April Fools Day only ten days after Mueller submitted his report.

mueller team probably recognized trump team studied talk radio in 2014 (sam nunberg told gabriel sherman NY magazine 4/3/16) so they could coordinate with the russian troll ops without direct communication --
it was outside their time range so they passed it on and the cons killed it. it would threaten the entire republican operation.
dem investigators will be derelict if they don't ask public questions to relate this disaster to talk radio, the main culprit

and they attacked AOC. that's why she's getting death threats.
the left's ignorance of rw talk radio is truly the biggest political mistake in history

(54,770 posts)Not sure what those would have shown, and I am sure if Mueller was involved he would have worked overtime to let trump and his family off the hook if there was anyway they were implicated.
Sounds to me that all those investigations that Mueller supposedly offloaded are dead, or going nowhere fast. And the man in the know -- Mueller -- has taken his money and is in hiding.

But, will be glad to look at any conclusions you want to quote, and will admit if Im wrong.

And there wasn't enough evidence because of encrypted messaging, deletions and wiping of communications? In other words, he couldn't reach conclusions because evidence was disappeared.

Look, I despise trump and think there are probably dozens of reasons to Impeach him. But the Mueller investigations failed, just like Fitzgeralds. Still hope Im wrong, but would bet not.

(53,776 posts)evidence but Part 2 declared ten instances of obstruction of justice so you are wrong that the report failed. What has failed is Barr lying about the report (sorry, but you seem to be buying his spin that the report exonerates trump) and acting as the nations chief LEO instead of trump's personal attorney and going along with all the stonewalling of House investigations by the trump admin.
You seem to be ignoring Part 2. Mueller in his brief public press conference even said if he would've found trump exonerated of obstruction he would've said so.
It's in Congress' hands now, and the courts who should uphold Congressional subpoenas for testimony from admin figures.

You are much more optimistic than me. I learned my lesson with Fitzgerald after waking up at night for months to see if they arrested bush and Cheney.

Of course trump Obstructed, we watched it live firing Comey, threatening to shut investigations down and fire Mueller, refusing documents, etc. Heck, even firing Sessions was Obstruction.
But Obstruction, was never going to bring trump down. Of it would, they could have impeached trump when he told Lester Holt that he fired Comey to obstruct the investigations.
While I dont agree with Barr that one cant Obstruct if underlying crimes cant be proven, it does make it much tougher.

the cons can ignore protests everywhere else because a few hundred ignorant liars on those radio stations yell over the protestors as long as it takes.
protests directed directly at the problem will freak the cons out. they'll howl "free speech!!", media will notice, and that will send advertisers to the hills. the cons will have to fund it directly and that will end the 'market demand' for lies and hate bullshit

That's why the WH kept saying that the investigation was almost over a few months before barr, they planted the seeds to make this not look so obvious.

(35,300 posts)The two that they show were started in Aug. 2017. Apparently they went nowhere. Mueller didn't stress out over them for 18 months. If the documents requested had turned up, the requesting office wasn't open and they'd have been shunted elsewhere--but since they were requested under the authority of the SP, who had concluded his work, it looks like they were dead letters. Either Mueller got the information some other way or decided that, since he wasn't getting the information, he'd do without. It might just be that there was legal stonewalling, and so those issues would never have been pursued. Dunno. (Like I said, might be interesting to see the entire 65-page doc.)
That's those two, at least.
The others, who knows.

(42,700 posts)The article says that seven "cases" were closed. But these weren't "cases" -- they were requests for access to electronic information. From what is disclosed in the article, it cannot be determined if the request was never granted or whether it was granted. In either instance, that could be the reason that they were "closed" after Mueller finished his report.
