72 Philadelphia Police Officers On Administrative Duty Over Alleged Racist And Violent Social Media

Source: CBS

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Philadelphia Police Commissioner Richard Ross announced Wednesday that 72 officers are on administrative duty, and that some of them might be terminated, for alleged racist and violent social media posts. Hundreds of Philadelphia police officers have been accused of these type of social media posts.

Ross spoke after meeting with organizers of the Rally for Justice protest on Wednesday afternoon.

“We’ve talked about from the outset how disturbing, how disappointing and upsetting these posts are and how they will undeniably impact police-community relations and we’re not naïve to that fact and nor are we dismissive of it,” Ross said.

With the officers being placed on administrative duty, they no longer will interact with the public and have turned in their department side arm.

I’m tired of being harrassed for using the bathroom. I was born female, use women’s. I have little hair most of the time due to alopecia.

Friends who have lost hair from chemo have also been harrassed. 🤬

Sorry, but it's true.

Higher hiring standards are needed. Highly educated and trained officers being paid a professional salary
should become the norm.

It's not as bad as I thought, but who spends the most time with your children and grandchildren?

Who is required to have a university degree?

Who gets paid for overtime and who doesn't? Hint: the one you trusted your child's future to doesn't get paid overtime and often has to buy school supplies too.

Increasing standards/pay for the one does not deny the same in the other.

police reform was a big issue in chicago. there are some truly disgusting cop blogs here.
people are counting on lightfoot. she wants it known that she doesnt plan to take prisoners. this would be an excellent place to start.
