Flynn contacted GOP Mueller critic while cooperating with special counsel

Source: CNN

Washington (CNN)While he was cooperating with special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation, former Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn contacted at least one member of Congress who was publicly criticizing the special counsel probe, according to messages obtained by CNN.

Flynn sent Twitter direct messages to Rep. Matt Gaetz, encouraging the Florida Republican to "keep the pressure on." It's not clear if Flynn sent additional messages to other lawmakers.

"You stay on top of what you're doing. Your leadership is so vital for our country now. Keep the pressure on," Flynn wrote in an April 2018 message to Gaetz, which was obtained by CNN.

On the evening Flynn sent the message to Gaetz, the lawmaker had appeared on Fox Business' "Lou Dobbs Tonight," where he criticized the Mueller investigation.

Gaetz is an idiot, not sure how idiots like him end up in positions of power, he has shown that he lacks a brain, he dos it every time he opens his mouth.

Flynn should be punished for his treason and for what we are learning about what he did now. The question is, should Gaetz suffer some from his conspiracy with Flynn?

they are above the law. They are very confident that they can do whatever they want without consequences.

Why bother to have a Constitution if selected bits can be ignored at will? Why do these people even bother to swear an oath when it means nothing to them and they lack any shred or honor or integrity to uphold the public trust?

I hope Judge Sullivan throws the book at Flynn, and gives him way more time than Mueller asked for.

After confirming that Flynn would still cooperate, the judge's statements took a harsh turn, with the judge accusing Flynn of having 'sold out his country.'

"All along you were an unregistered agent of a foreign country while serving as the national security adviser of the president of the United States...Arguably that undermines everything that flag over here stands for. Arguably, you sold your country out." He had lied when he was working for, and being paid by, the taxpayers of the United States. Flynn had broken faith with the American people.

“Arguably,” Sullivan said, describing how Flynn had secretly been working for the Turkish government before he joined the White House, “that undermines everything this flag over here stands for.”
“I am going to be frank with you, this crime is very serious,” the judge said. “I can’t hide my disgust, my disdain, at this criminal offence.”
