Trump says he is opposed to White House aides testifying to Congress, deepening power struggle with Hill

President Trump on Tuesday said he is opposed to current and former White House aides providing testimony to congressional panels in the wake of the special counsel report, intensifying a power struggle between his administration and House Democrats.

In an interview with The Washington Post, Trump said that complying with congressional requests was unnecessary after the White House cooperated with special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s probe of Russian interference and the president’s own conduct in office.

“There is no reason to go any further, and especially in Congress where it’s very partisan — obviously very partisan,” Trump said.

“I don’t want people testifying to a party, because that is what they’re doing if they do this,” Trump said.

This isn’t a “legal” argument at all and barely pretends to be. It’s a dictator’s pout or a tantrum masquerading as an argument. It’s certainly not based on genuine executive privilege.

He uses everything in his and PUtin's battle to destroy America for their own personal profit and enjoyment. Every step he wants to take is down the dictatorship road and repugs are all in on it, the oligarchs have united and we are fucked. When/if SCOTUS ratifies his unconstitutional $$ grab, our constitutional way of government will be in it's final throes and the worldwide rw oligarchs will be in ascendency and the rot will multiply exponentially. Only Roberts could preserve our union and uphold our constitution, but I doubt he will.

Trump says he is opposed to White House aides testifying to Congress. Unless the witness agrees Trump can’t stop them without a court order, which would be unprecedented and doubtful. He can’t gag his former aides, and it is criminal to threaten them.

He's a criminal through and through. Barr just lied and basically showed there's no crime by drumpf so bad that he won't cover it up and lie about it publicly - murder is not a step too far in this sycophants' book and America doesn't matter one bit - just party power and the rich.

This is a country of laws, Spanky. Deal with it or resign.

I am so sick of this criminal wiping his ass with the Constitution, I could puke blood.
