Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan will travel to New Hampshire after the end of the General Assembly session in April to speak at an event that bills itself as a must stop for presidential hopefuls.
Hogan spokeswoman Amelia Chasse said the governor has accepted a invitation by the New Hampshire Institute of Politics to speak at the Politics & Eggs series at Saint Anselm College. She said Hogan will participate in the speaker series April 23.
The governor looks forward to returning to the Granite State to participate in the iconic Politics & Eggs speaker series, Chasse said.
The Politics & Eggs series was founded in 1995 to provide New England business leaders with a chance to meet with major party presidential candidates, according to its website.

If he had run during the age of Howard Dean chairing the party with full funding for his 50-State Strategy, the Democrats would have done even better than they did.
Bernie's overt support for a 50-State strategy is one of many reasons I support him.

(94,490 posts)It had nothing to do with campaigning, it was a focus on State Party building. Whatever you think about Hogan, the Maryland Democrats control both Houses of the State Legislature, both Senate seats and 7 out of 8 House seats. The BETTER lesson is that Republicans don't always fall into easy stereotypes, and will actually win in Blue States if the Democratic alternative is uninspiring.

(1,898 posts)I was one of the very first Democrats in Florida to join Chairman Dean's Democracy Bonds recurring donation program. One of his unforgettably stated goals was that the program and its steady stream of funding would enable the party to contest every seat, every cycle, from school board up.

(1,898 posts)One of Dean's most important points when he announced the Democracy Bonds program was that the party needed to be disabused on the fallacious notion that running "air wars" (his words) could defeat Republicans.
Had there been national momentum, Jealous' campaign could have enjoyed more momentum. We had a similar disaster here in Florida with the gubernatorial and senate races.

Sometimes a bad candidate is just a bad candidate.
