Arizona lawmakers approve measures that could result in fewer children being vaccinated

Source: Arizona Daily Star (Tucson)

Arizona lawmakers approved three measures that foes say could result in fewer children
being vaccinated, even amid outbreaks of measles in pockets across the nation.

Members of the House Committee on Health and Human Services voted 5-4 along party lines to:

Require that parents be given extensive information about the risks of vaccines, including multipage inserts that are prepared for doctors, a list of the ingredients and how to file a claim for damages;
Expand the exemptions available to parents who do not want their children to receive state-mandated vaccines and eliminate a requirement that parents review and sign a form informing them of the risks;
Mandate that parents be given the option of having their children tested first to see if they already have immunity.

The votes came over the objections from a string of doctors and other medical professionals who told lawmakers that the changes will undermine public health, at least in part by inundating parents with information that will only confuse them and cause them to have second thoughts.

4. For the same reason they are apoplectic over decreasing birth rates in all developed countries

They need sick, desperate, starving people to work for pittance. A man with a sick child wont quit and find a better job. A mother whose child has measles induced blindness wont be giving up the job to clean the rich man's toilet. The more people, the cheaper labor becomes. The more sick people, the easier to manipulate into dangerous and abusive jobs. The more ignorant, the better to con.

Rich people are a danger to a peaceful society. I'm not talking how your uncle is rich or even how that doctor down the road is rich. I'm talking about people like the Koch brothers and the Waltons who have more money than small countries. They are very, very dangerous. They are even MORE dangerous than extremists and terrorists.

They know that one day the people they stole the wealth from will want some of it back and they got to keep those people desperate, poor, ignorant, fighting among themselves with racism and sexism, and sick, with little hope of finding relief for themselves or their children.

That's the vision a true capitalist has. Rich Capitalists envision a world where money puts you above the law, where everyone is treated based upon their sex, skin color and religion. They want people who are happy to work in filthy and unsafe conditions because they know NO better, where the majority of people are poor to the point of not having enough to eat. They envision the majority as uneducated, just barely smart enough to read factory directions, with sick children everywhere and no access to medical attention. That is the vision capitalism has in store for us all. And we are getting very close to that warped vision.

to a far greater extent than Russians, but with the same goals--to divide us as a nation into weak, easily-controlled splinter factions.

Billionaire propaganda is much, much more extensive and dangerous than anything foreign actors have promulgated.

Excellent post, Farmer-Rick, that succinctly states how we got to where we are now and where we might go. Also terrifying considering that most 'Muricans seem to be oblivious and to consider all of this as "just the way things are."

That's what they truly want, child labor, no medical care, no laws constraining risks for workers or the communities and quick deaths.

Voter suppression is what the republican party is all about. They long to return to the days where only white land owners can vote.

If you're an anti-vaxer be prepared to home school your children. You wouldn't want them exposed to 600+ years of science that might accidentally rub off on them, correct?

When I was in the military in the 1990s there was an uproar about the Anthrax vaccination given to troops as a measure against chemical warfare (Anthrax is particularly nasty.). It got to the point that they distributed an information paper and we received briefings about it.

That's how I learned that US farm workers had been receiving the same vaccination since the 1950s.
