Federal agency after Trump tweet: Winter storms don't disprove climate change

Source: The Hill

A federal agency tweeted Tuesday that winter storms don’t disprove climate change, hours after President Trump seemed to imply the opposite in a tweet.

“Winter storms don't prove that global warming isn't happening,” the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) tweeted from its main climate change-related account, which is associated with its Climate.gov website.

The tweet had a cartoon-like drawing and linked to a 2015 post on NOAA’s website explaining that even with climate change, certain locations will continue to experience “winters that are unusually cold and snowy.”

Monday night, Trump tweeted about the extreme, historic cold blast coming into the Midwest and other parts of the nation.

It's appalling that they have to illustrate it in a cartoon style for the prez to understand. And in the end, he'll ignore any data that is against his preconceived ideas.

Is stupidity contagious? Can I get it from listening to the president or do I have to come into contact with an idiot?

"Global Waming"? I immediately got notice that was a misspelled word. Does the president ignore his spell check because he thinks he knows better? WTF is the matter with him

it's getting useful information out to people through social media.

They had prepared the materials years ago. It only takes a few seconds to attach the link and image to a tweet. And instantly people are talking about it. Winning

Yes, that is what is happening, but the uneducated will say that is was colder last night than usual. Just use climate change. Of course you are still going to have to tell them the difference between weather and climate.

He sees "climate" and thinks "weather."

FFS, The Hippy Dippy Weatherman, Al Sleet (AKA George Carlin) had a better grasp of meteorological phenomenon than this buffoon.

"Forecast for tonight: dark, which will give way to widely scattered light tomorrow."

(George, we all miss you.)
