Trump-allied House conservatives draft articles of impeachment against Rosenstein as 'last resort'

Source: Washington Post

Conservative House allies of President Trump have drafted articles of impeachment against Deputy Attorney General Rod J. Rosenstein, who oversees the ongoing special-counsel probe, setting up a possible GOP showdown over the federal investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

The document, which was obtained by The Washington Post, underscores the growing chasm between congressional Republican leaders, who have maintained for months that special counsel Robert S. Mueller III should be allowed to proceed, and rank-and-file GOP lawmakers who have repeatedly battled the Justice Department during the past year.

The draft articles, which one of its authors called a “last resort,” would be unlikely to garner significant support in Congress. But it could serve as a provocative political weapon for conservatives in their standoff with Mueller and the Justice Department.

Members of the conservative House Freedom Caucus — led by Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.), a Trump confidant — finalized the draft in recent days. It came after weeks of disputes with Rosenstein over the Justice Department’s response to congressional requests for documents about the decisions and behavior of federal law-enforcement officials working on the Russia investigation and other federal probes, including the investigation into 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s email server.

Conservative House allies of President Trump have drafted articles of treason, as in their overt act of treason.

The American public will not accept this, a political indictment of the FBI, law and order. This is the bank robber suing the police for arresting him. It's a no-go. Every not-Trumper of every stripe will see through any such endeavor. A total disregard for law and law enforcement and courts and zoning and police would result from such an action.

I know The Moron does and that is why he mentioned it at his rally. He wants to get them to the polls with this issue. Pelosi knows so the and has already told Dems running in the midterms NOT to run on impeachment. It is a sure fire way to get the cult/fans to the polls to vote for the GOP candidates.

The GOP is up to something evil and this plan is part of it.

most of the requests for information from the House "investigation", and those documents appear in the media the very next day. Imagine that! A leak large enough to accommodate an ocean liner, right in the Republican lead House Russian "investigation". The House Russia "investigation" was a sham from the beginning, and Nunes et al. used it as a way to leak information that seemingly helped TrumpCo. Do they actually think they could be entrusted to have Top Secret documents? Rosenstein routinely weighed the House's requests with the sensitive nature of the documents requested. If he thought the requests were for information too sensitive to be given to blabbermouths like Nunes and Meadows, he refused them, and rightfully so. The Republicans on the House "investigation" proved time and again to be totally incapable of discretion, especially when it came to documents pertaining to Mueller's findings about Trump's behavior in the obstruction case(s) and Russian interference.

Screw the CONservative House Freedom Caucus.

Could there be any other agenda? Maybe Kelly Ann can come up with some reason why it's a patriotic bill. Republicans just love their country too much.

This is brazen abuse of power and obstruction of justice by every Republican who has anything to do with any attempted impeachment of Rosenstein.
