In a deep dive into the complex relationship between President Donald Trump and his personal attorney, Michael Cohen, the Wall Street Journal is reporting that the brash and controversial lawyer once bragged that he was a part of the Russian mob.
Cohen is currently under investigation by federal authorities for financial crimes, including making a $130,000 payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels.
According to the Journal, longtime friend Gregory Ehrlich recalled that he had invited Cohen to his wedding and was amused when he overheard the attorney bragging to another guest that he affiliated with the Russian mob. Ehrlich, who has since broken off ties with Cohen, admitted that he was skeptical of the boast.
On Thursday President Trump seemed to throw Cohen under the bus during a rambling Fox News interview in which he admitted that the attorney was working at his behest on the Stormy Daniels hush money agreement, only to later say that Cohen legal troubles had nothing to do with him or his campaign.

(22,951 posts)He learned "4th grade Russian." Trump, Cohen, Manafort, Gates, et al have become loyal hangers-on to the Russian mob. If Trump hadn't spoiled it all by raising his profile too high by winning the presidency, they'd still all be hauling it in hand over fist.

Is anybody paying attention? This has been mentioned several times right here on DU.

Come in here, dear boy, have a cigar,
You're gonna go far,
You're gonna fly high,
You're never gonna die,
You're gonna make it if you try,
They're gonna love you.
I've always had a deep respect and I mean that most sincere;
The band is just fantastic, that is really what I think,
Oh, by the way, which one's Pink?
And did we tell you the name of the game, boy?
We call it "Riding The Gravy Train".
We're just knocked out.
We heard about the sell out.
You're gonna get an album out,
You owe it to the people.
We're so happy we can hardly count.
Everybody else is just green,
Have you seen the chart?
It's a hell of a start,
It could be made into a monster,
If we all pull together as a team.
And did we tell you the name of the game, boy?
We call it "Riding The Gravy Train".

(19,254 posts)It's a shame that TV, movies, and pop culture has made the Mob's image into something they are not. There is no honor, organized crime syndicates are filled with disgusting and sick people who are parasites and thugs. The idea of the honorable godfather running things is a false image.
And the Russian Mob is worse than most, they're filled with sadistic killers who make money from child kidnapping, rape, and trafficking. They make money from extortion, drug dealing, and basically raiding the wealth of good hard working people. The mob deserves zero respect, they are the worst among us and a plague on the earth. There are no good people in the Russian Mob, each member profits from horrible crimes against regular people. People need to start to look at what the Russian Mob is involved in, one of their primary industries is child sex trafficking. These people will take your children, rape them, and sell them, it's what they do.
The fact that these sick monsters have their hooks into the President of the United States is the greatest crisis in our nation's history.

You mean your involved with monsters who traffic women and children for sex? People who murder innocent people for money? People who steal for the working class through any means imaginable.
Crime syndicates are filled with the worst people on the planet, anyone who would brag about being part of them is disgusting.
