Start spreading the news! Democrats flip 40th statehouse seat of the cycle

Source: Daily Kos

On Tuesday, Democrat Steve Stern flipped New York’s 10th Assembly District, giving Team Blue their 40th pickup of the cycle.

Stern, an attorney and former Suffolk County legislator, won AD-10 with 59-41 percent (as of press time). While no Democrat has represented this district in the state Assembly for over three decades, Hillary Clinton won this Westchester-area seat 52-45 and Barack Obama carried it 51-48 in 2012; tonight’s flip indicates this seat’s shift toward Democrats is progressing.

Therefore, there is no other way that voters can show their revulsion with Trump than voting Democratic. It is that simple. In elections in different parts of the country where there is some history of Republican strength, that has been destroyed. In a district in Pennsylvania, in an Alabama senate race and here in a state assembly district in New York it is the same. Sure there are differences, and special characteristics. But the outcome is the same. Democrats taking seats that were usually Republican by history.

Trump is truly offensive Define that as you will. I don't think that will change..Do you?

Governor Cuomo was there as well as Congressman Engel, and Senator Schumer sent his congratulations via Skype.
And of course, most of the Westchester Democratic bigwigs were there to celebrate.

At last count (86% of the districts reporting) it was Mayer 58%, Killian 42%

And it looks like we've flipped another county legislative seat from red to blue.
With 86% of the districts reporting so far, Democrat Terry Clements is leading Jim Freeman 54-48%
Which means that of the 17 Westchester County legislator seats, there are 13 Democrats.

When Democrats show up to vote, DEMOCRATS WIN.

Democratic Governor John Bel Edwards from Louisiana. Edwards is the real deal, not just another pretty face. Democrats are winning in the trenches. By the time the country takes notice, the blue tsunami will be inescapable.

40 state house seats won. And don't let the GOP diminish the importance by saying the Republicans "just fielded weak candidates". They are all weak candidates, and have been. Only in 2018, more voters are woke to that fact.

To say I'm excited and exhausted is an understatement. The Republicans ran a really dirty campaign, full of fear mongering, personal smears and racist dog whistles.
It was very gratifying to not only win but win resoundingly.
Steve is a person of dignity and integrity and did not let the campaign degenerate.
Of course, now we have to run again in November.
Taking a day to breathe, then we're getting ready for the trip to Albany!!!

Hundreds and hundreds of Republicans in states across the nation have to somehow hold onto their seats, many won't.
