Kentucky attorney general hammers GOP Gov. Bevin for stating kids were ‘raped’ because teachers walked out

Kentucky Attorney General Andy Beshear (D) took the state’s Republican Governor Matt Bevin to the Twitter woodshed Saturday morning for his “morally reprehensible” comments that striking teachers were responsible for students being subjected to sexual abuse because the educators staged a 1-day walkout.

On Friday evening, Bevin, a Tea Party darling attacked the teachers, telling reporters, “I guarantee you somewhere in Kentucky today, a child was sexually assaulted that was left at home because there was nobody there to watch them. I guarantee you somewhere today, a child was physically harmed or ingested poison because they were left alone because a single parent didn’t have any money to take care of them.”

Bevis went on to add, “Children were harmed – some physically, some sexually, some were introduced to drugs for the first time – because they were vulnerable and left alone.”

Democrat Beshear shamed the governor in a series of Saturday morning tweets, writing, “Gov. Bevin’s comments last night saying teachers rallying in Frankfort led to children being sexually abused are morally reprehensible and must be condemned by all Kentuckians.”

The Kentucky Republican Party is calling on a GOP state lawmaker to resign following allegations he molested a 17-year-old girl in 2012.

"Last October, after local media reports about reprehensible and racist posts on his Facebook page, we asked then-candidate Dan Johnson to drop out of the race for State Representative,” said Mac Brown, the chairman of the Republican Party of Kentucky in a statement Monday, according to the Lexington Herald-Leader.

“Following today’s extensively sourced and documented story from the Kentucky Center for Investigative Reporting, we once again find ourselves in a position where we must call for him to resign, this time, from the Kentucky General Assembly," Brown said.

Once a coworker of mine (a tea-party type) told me that everybody should have weapons at home so they dont get robbed.
His reason ? Well, the only thing that pretty much stopped him from coming to rob me was that he was not sure if I had a gun... This is how these people think.

If they were, they'd either launch a credible investigation of, or demand the immediate resignation of, the Serial Sexual Predator in Chief.

"because they were left alone because a single parent didn’t have any money to take care of them.”

THIS is the telling part of his commentary. WHY doesn't a single parent have money to take care of them (earns too little?) and/or WHY doesn't a single parent have leave time through employer to stay home with children in case of emergency (which a school shut-down is)?

Teachers are the cause of the problem? I don't think so. Hey, governor--look in the mirror.
