NEW YORK (AP) Eight months before the company that owns the National Enquirer paid $150,000 to a former Playboy Playmate who claimed shed had an affair with Donald Trump, the tabloids parent made a $30,000 payment to a less famous individual: a former doorman at one of the real estate moguls New York City buildings.
As it did with the ex-Playmate, the Enquirer signed the ex-doorman to a contract that effectively prevented him from going public with a juicy tale that might hurt Trumps campaign for president.
The payout to the former Playmate, Karen McDougal, stayed a secret until The Wall Street Journal published a story about it days before Election Day. Since then curiosity about that deal has spawned intense media coverage and, this week, helped prompt the FBI to raid the hotel room and offices of Trumps personal lawyer, Michael Cohen. The story of the ex-doorman, Dino Sajudin, hasnt been told until now.
The Associated Press confirmed the details of the Enquirers payment through a review of a confidential contract and interviews with dozens of current and former employees of the Enquirer and its parent company, American Media Inc. Sajudin got $30,000 in exchange for signing over the rights, in perpetuity, to a rumor hed heard about Trumps sex life that the president had fathered an illegitimate child with an employee at Trump World Tower, a skyscraper he owns near the United Nations. The contract subjected Sajudin to a $1 million penalty if he disclosed either the rumor or the terms of the deal to anyone.

Report: Trump Doorman Paid to Keep Quiet About Lovechild Rumor
Another day, another salacious rumor involving the presidents love life. Three reports have claimed that a former doorman at a Trump property in New York was paid by the National Enquirer in late 2015 for the rights to a story he had heard that the now-president fathered an illegitimate child with an employee in the 1980s. The reports echo the case of former Playboy Playmate Karen McDougal, who was paid $150,000 by the National Enquirer for the rights to her storywhich was never publishedabout an affair with Trump. The claims about doorman Dino Sajudin first appeared on gossip website and National Enquirer partner Radar on Wednesday, but the Associated Press and the The New Yorker then published more detailed accounts. While there is no evidence the rumor is true, it counts as further evidence that the National Enquirers parent company, American Media Inc., had a pattern of buying and then burying stories that could be damaging to Trump during his presidential campaign. Sajudin got $30,000 in exchange for the rights in perpetuity to the rumor hed heard about Trumps sex life.

(5,272 posts)This rumor indicates that the issue of his fathering other child/children was a concern. Don't know about Karen's NDA, but Stormy's NDA was quite specific that she could not mention anything about children or parentage by Trump even though Stormy's attorney says that Stormy did not have a child by Trump.

(10,054 posts)I can only imagine all the stories that are out there, but stay hidden out of fear of violating trumpy's NDA's. Wish there was some billionaire guy/gal that would just pay everyone's fines, so they could all finally speak out...

(7,769 posts)The New Yorker has uncovered no evidence that Trump fathered the child. A spokesperson for the Trump Organization denied the allegations, including the assertion that Calamari told Sajudin the story. When I reached out to the alleged daughter, she declined through a representative of her employer to answer questions. Her mother did not respond to repeated requests for comment. I spoke with the father of the family, who said that Sajudins claim was completely false and ridiculous and added that the Enquirer had put the family in a difficult situation.

If that is the case could this be considered a violation of campaign contribution laws that limit the amount you can donate to a candidate?
