Amid a wave of expert litigators declining offers to join President Donald Trumps Russia probe team, the White House defended the team Tuesday.
During a press briefing Tuesday, the Washington Posts Philip Rucker asked White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders about the number of high-profile lawyers who have declined Trumps offers to join his legal team, naming Dan Webb and Ted Olson, the former solicitor general, as well as unnamed others.
Im wondering why the President has had so much trouble finding an experienced lawyer willing to take him on? Rucker asked. And who at this hour is his lead counsel in negotiating with Robert Mueller and the special counsels [office]?
The President has a highly qualified team with several individuals that have been part of this process, Sanders responded, naming Ty Cobb and Jay Sekulow.

WH: No Plans For Porter To Return, Despite Reports That Trump Wants Him Back
By Nicole Lafond | March 27, 2018 3:00 pm
There are no plans to bring former White House staff secretary Rob Porter back to the West Wing, press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters Tuesday.
There are no plans for him to come back, Sanders said, countering reports that Trump wants Porter to return and talks to him on the phone regularly. Sanders clarified that Trump and Porter have spoken one time since Porters departure. Im not aware of any other conversations beyond that, she said.
Sanders pushback follows a report from The New York Times on Monday night that said Trump still speaks to Porter over the phone and their conversations have become increasingly frequent in recent weeks. Trump reportedly hopes that Porter will return to the White House one day because he misses the structure that Porter fashioned, though the President recognizes that he probably cant bring Porter back, according to The Times.
Porter served as Trumps staff secretary and resigned in early February after two of his ex-wives allegations of domestic abuse became public, including a photo of one former wife with a black eye that she allegedly sustained from Porter hitting her.

WH Spox Wont Keep Answering Same Question On Stormy Daniels
By Caitlin MacNeal | March 27, 2018 3:05 pm
After facing several questions about a payment from Trump attorney Michael Cohen to porn actress Stormy Daniels, and President Donald Trumps silence on Daniels allegation of an affair, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders complained on Tuesday that reporters asked the the same question over and over and over again.
I dont think its silent when the President has addressed this. Weve addressed it extensively. Theres just nothing else to add, Sanders said when asked about Trumps silence on the allegations. Just because you guys continue to ask the same question over and over and over again doesnt mean that we have to keep coming up with new things to say. Weve addressed it. Weve addressed it extensively. And theres nothing new to add to this conversation.
Earlier in the briefing, Sanders declined to answer reporters questions, simply repeating that Trump has denied Daniels allegations and referring further questions to Cohen.
