Trumps Infrastructure Plan Isnt About Building

Source: National Memo

Posted with permission from Newsweek

Revamping America’s infrastructure is at the top of President Donald Trump’s agenda for 2018, and he is expected to detail his $1 trillion plan to address the nation’s crumbling roads, bridges and airports this month.

According to what has been heard from the White House so far, it appears the effort will focus mostly on deregulation and privatization of America’s infrastructure—not actual construction of new roads and bridges.

“The biggest single thing we can do for infrastructure in this country is we can shorten and improve the approval process,” said the director of the White House National Economic Council, Gary Cohn, who will brief Trump on the plan Wednesday. “We can streamline the approval process from years to weeks and months, and if we do that there is money.”

Sources told Politico that Trump will split the infrastructure bill into three sections: streamlining bureaucracy, increasing funding and ending the agency review process. He would like to allocate $200 billion for infrastructure projects over the next decade, Politico reported, and expects the rest of the money to come from private-public partnerships and state and local funding.

I don't know about you, but we the taxpayers own the roads, and other publicly funded buildings, airports, etc....... in some shape and fashion, and I really don't appreciate, that infrastructure should be turned in how stadiums are paid for using public dollars to make some asshole, hedge fund manager , or some sovereign fund rich investment rich---------------------

This sexual predator traitor only looks at how he can make a buck off anything, and in the process bankrupt everything he touches

Private property enables a lot of control and curtailment of civil rights.

NO amount of streamlining of current regulations will magically create $$$ out of thin air.

What it will create is a curtain of not knowing what is going on with whatever contracts are written.

THAT is certain

Letting them clean their dirty money via shady purchases/sales of condominiums and luxury homes is not 'large scale' enough to handle the volumes. We need to let them buy up our power plants, our roads, railroads, shipping ports, airports, etc. In fact, hell lets even let foreign conglomerates buy up our Air Traffic Control system, why not?

Let 'em get into the US infrastructure biz and they can REALLY launder LOTS of $$$ ... and weaken our sovereignty as well. Why he's even gonna 'streamline' the process for them and get rid of pesky stuff like 'worker health/safety/environmental regulations'.

Swell guy ... that Trump.

do something good for the nation?

It was always about lining his pockets.

he thinks the job of the President of the United States is about draining us dry of every last dime we have.

when that fucker is escorted from the white house, someone damn well better check his pockets for any stolen loot.

How to Build Trump’s Wall - Privatize It

Republicans have often found a way to tax people surreptitiously by privatizing many public works projects to corporations rather than have gov’t pay for it. A fee is a tax under another name.

The corporations/investors are granted a multi-year license with a guaranteed profit.

This could also be done with Trump’s Wall with Mexico.

Corporations/investors front the money to build it and they will be paid by Mexico.

It gives republicans a chance to save the gov’t money by investing in it and show their confidence in Trump’s word that Mexico will pay for it .

No gov’t backed bonds.

No cost to the gov’t,,, no need for taxes,,, profit for the patriotic investors who believe in Trump.

Win win all around.

Even Trump can show his patriotism and shrewd business savvy by investing in it.

Bastards. Also, our tax dollars are expected to flow mostly to those high-profit projects business wants to build, while very needed but less profitable infrastructure will go unaddressed.

Have all of you not seen this coming for the last 40 years? Both parties have not spent a dime on infrastructure repair so that is just gets SO BAD that we will allow for this "God Awful PPP" plan that is coming to our door!

Let's sell our roads, bridges, tunnels, and whatever to the "Private Sector" wants to buy it, to the highest bidder, and let THEM do the fixing, and repairing, and MAGA! Because HELL, we don’t want to fall into some river, and are tired of pot-holes, and would like to get to work without 2 hour waits!

Hell Yes! We’ll sell our infrastructure to the highest corporate bidder for that relief!

Because We ALL Know the Private Sector can do it BETTER, and Cheaper! They won’t charge us $100.00 to get from our door to our office! They WILL actually keep the roads and bridges decent, passable, and safe! Of Course, they will! Cuz, they luv us!

Ask all the States that sold their turnpikes to companies, how did that work out for them?

Bend Over People… Here It Comes Again!
