I also am going to wager it was some sort of domestic dispute, perhaps involving divorce and/or custody rights.

The NRA is responsible for making guns widely available and has helped greatly increase paranoia about crime rates which are in fact declining. Further they increase apprehension that Obama is going to come take all your gunz, next month fer sure.
The NRA is responsible for making super-powerful guns available beyond the basic that the 2nd Amendment allows.

Is General Motors against automobile crashes? Probably not since the more cars that
get wrecked, the more they can sell.

Attorney Major Langer Killed by Former Partner John A. Mendoza in Long Beach
The shooting which took place in Downtown Long Beach today reportedly at the office of Larry H. Parker, was actually at Perona, Langer, Beck, Serbin, Mendoza and Harrison was the location of the shooting. The two offices have merged and are at the same address, 300 E San Antonio Drive.
The Observer has learned the name of both the perpetrator and the victim in what's called workplace violence. "Major Langer came to the office to fire a named partner named John Mendoza. Mendoza shot Major dead and shot Ron (Beck) in the stomach. Ron's in the hospital with serious injuries," says our source.
"John has successfully litigated thousands of industrial injury cases over the past 20 years. Many of these cases involved trial court decision being overturned, resulting in changes to California laws benefiting not only his clients, but all Californians." says the Perona Langer website.
