Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee poll: Bredesen has more support than Blackburn
Source: The Tennessean
In the lead-up to former Gov. Phil Bredesens decision to launch a bid for the U.S. Senate, polling commissioned by the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee found the former Nashville mayor had slightly more support than U.S. Rep. Marsha Blackburn.
The poll found Bredesen was leading Blackburn by 46 percent to 41 percent among likely voters, with 13 percent undecided.
The survey was performed Oct. 20-22, more than a month before the Nashville Democrat entered the race.
Among independents alone, Bredesens lead increased in a head-to-head matchup with Blackburn. Forty-eight percent of independents favored Bredesen, while 31 percent were with Blackburn.

(3,746 posts)I think she can be beaten by a strong Democratic candidate. Maybe I am just overly optimistic but we gotta have hope.

I mean no disrespect to the Loon.
Let's see if Marsha Blackburn can out corn dog Michele Bachmann when it matters most.[img][/img]
Well, shes smart enough to bring a net neutrality law into the house. She knows this is a firestorm issue with young voters and if it passes, she may have just walked back into her job.

(129,740 posts)that wasn't her usual RW lunatic Michele Bachmann type-shit, was notable given its high profile subject matter, and was apparently to try to raise her public profile for that Senate race. I had forgotten she was running and now the pieces fit.

(129,740 posts)then it behooves to do an Alabama/Virginia-style canvassing and GOTV effort as that seat is do-able. It might be close but I think there are pockets within the so-called "buckle of the bible belt" (as I heard it referred as when I went down there about 20-some years ago) that need to be roused - notably in Memphis and Chattanooga.

The word "mansplaining" may come up.
If a Dem can win in Alabama, then anything is possible. Our party better fight for this open seat.
