Trump Defends Alabama Senate Defeat: 'I Said Gillespie and Moore Would Lose'

President Donald Trump kicked off Monday morning as the New York Times recently reported he always does: watching Fox & Friends and tweeting.

This particular Monday, Trump remained fixated on the Alabama Senate race, where his chosen candidate Roy Moore was defeated in a stunning upset by Democrat Doug Jones.

And the president wanted to remind everyone that despite that loss, Republicans are still having a good year:

While he was at Camp David over the weekend, they mostly kept him off twitter. Back at the WH he was back to business as usual and manages to forget that the U.S. Senate is part of "Congress".

The Georgia election they ALMOST lost a seat that has been red for 40 yrs. Every special election the dems outperformed how they had for decades.

...is the people he pulled out of Congress were in extremely safe R districts. Senators don’t have that assurance because the only way to rig a Senate district requires moving vans.
