Protests Erupt After Trump Plans To Recognize Jerusalem As Israeli Capital

Source: HuffPost

Palestinians took to the streets on Wednesday to protest President Donald Trump’s expected decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and relocate the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to the contested city.

People in Gaza City and the city of Rafah took to the streets chanting “Death to America,” “Death to Israel” and “Down with Trump.” They also burned American and Israeli flags as well as photos of Trump, who alerted world leaders of the decision on Tuesday and is expected to formally announce the news later on Wednesday. Palestinian and Islamic groups in response called for three days of “popular anger” against the president.

Jordanian members of parliament also staged a protest outside of the U.S. embassy in Amman.

In photos posted to social media overnight, protesters in Bethlehem also burned photos of Trump in advance of his speech, a dramatic shift in American foreign policy that is likely to inflame Israeli-Palestinian tensions. The president had faced a Monday deadline to make the decision and signaled his intention to upend a nearly 70-year policy held by America to let the two sides decide Jerusalem’s status among themselves.

When the Dotard passes away, our national memorial to him should be in the form of a toilet - with his remains right down there!

This will be the way for us to symbolically flush away our memories of him!

EXACTLY what he was looking for. Violence. Jordanians were smart with just having protests but calls for death to America and Israel will play right into donnie's hands.

...every country with a large Muslim population from Morocco to the Baltics, through the Middle East, to Indonesia, to the Philippines.

Now own that, GOP! You have made the world less safe. And that includes the U.S.

How can he make political decisions in other countries? Especially one that is likely to escalate a bad situation to worse. I hope the United Nations condemns him.
