WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Republican Senator Bob Corker said on Friday he cannot support a sweeping tax bill that Senate Republican leaders have said has enough votes to pass.

“At the end of the day, I am not able to cast aside my fiscal concerns and vote for legislation that I believe, based on the information I currently have, could deepen the debt burden on future generations,” Corker said in a statement issued by his office.

You're 100% correct. He could have killed it in committee. He also could have stated his opposition hours ago giving opponents a better chance to turn another vote.

I don't think they have the 51 votes yet....

Although likely only 50 and they have Pence break the tie and put his signature over this disgusting rape of the American Working People.

That means the Senate GOP tax plan, which leadership wants to pass as early as Friday, now has the support of 51 Republican senators. Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.), who has concerns about the deficit, is the only remaining holdout.

Also still have the feeling that Senator Collins will get an earful this weekend back in Maine.....

She can still change her mind if she wants to have another term as Senator in future...

This Republican Tax Scam is practically Treasonous. With these Criminals in charge, our Democracy is being sold to the Plutocrats. 2018 can not come soon enough.

These Republican Corporate shills need to be out as soon as possible. They are throwing the average American under the bus so the Super-Rich can get even more money for themselves.

Maybe people can get jobs polishing yachts. 2018 must be a death knell for these evil politics.

especially since most media belongs to them, and no Democrat will get a hearing, even to get their name out there.

Hear me out.
We know that they made a lot of absurd promises to their base over the years in order to win the majority but what happened when it came time to deliver?

Make Obama a one term president? Failed.
ACA repeal? Failed.
Hillary in jail? Failed
Build a wall and make mexico pay for it? Failed
Put into office a president that would make America great again? Failed
They had the power to destroy the ACA but there would have been major voter backlash so they needed some of there people to vote no when it came to repeal but now those same ones support the horrible tax proposal, why?
I think they are having them vote yes so they are not weakened in the upcoming election and I think they are picking ones who voted yes to overturn the ACA to vote no for this tax plan because they know it's horrible but they have to be seen as at least trying.
They will then try to blame the Democrats for their "failures" and use it as a new point to rally their base around.
