Collins to vote for GOP tax plan

Source: The Hill

GOP Sen. Susan Collins (Maine) said on Friday that she will support the Senate tax plan, giving the legislation an additional shot of momentum.

"I will cast my vote in support of the Senate tax reform bill. As revised, this bill will provide much-needed tax relief and simplification for lower- and middle-income families, while spurring the creation of good jobs and greater economic growth," Collins said in a statement.

That means the Senate GOP tax plan, which leadership wants to pass as early as Friday, now has the support of 51 Republican senators. Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.), who has concerns about the deficit, is the only remaining holdout.

Several amendments that Collins offered were incorporated into the bill, including the restoration of a $10,000 deduction for property taxes and a lower threshold for deducting medical expenses.

Lets put the medical item into complete perspective............when you file your return, you have to have in a over cost from your income of 7.6% to declare the medical deduction, in other words Susan Collins is a liar

It is plain and simple

When the arrests begin in earnest, every one of these complicit scoundrels should be rounded up and hauled off to prison.

then we can stop spending and find a way to reverse every illegitimate act and appointment these clowns railroaded through

Resist. And return your Christmas presents. You're going to need the money for health care in the future.

10. How will she know those amendments are even in the bill, or as she "authored" them?

Nobody has time to even read the amendments (see the post regarding Claire McCaskill)! Nobody really knows what's in the bill except that it's one big tongue-bath to the rich and Corporate America.

Every one of these Republicans deserves whatever misery Nemesis sends their way.

Not sure how she is a liar.

Also restoring the mortgage interest deduction takes a lot out of the punishment aspect for blue states.

Obviously this tax plan is a train wreck because of the corporate give aways but the changes she demanded and got were all good ones. or at the least were a possitive change.

I am not sure how they compensated for her changes because those changes would have a large effect on the bottom line.

She got promises that certain things will be considered in committee when the bill goes back to the House. Notwithstanding the fact that the House can vote without a committee. She's an idiot, pure and simple, if she thinks those promises will be kept.
