Trump isnt going to Alabama to campaign for Moore - but plans to hold a rally next door

President Trump isn’t going to Alabama to campaign for Roy Moore. But he’s planning to get about as close as you can to the state line.

Trump is expected to hold a campaign-style rally in Pensacola, Fla., about 20 miles from the Alabama line, next Friday. The rally is four days ahead of the Dec. 12 special election in Alabama, where Moore faces Democrat Doug Jones.

At the Dec. 8 rally, advisers said the president is likely to attack national Democrats and may attack Jones. It is unclear if Trump will specifically praise Moore.

Pensacola is in the same media market as Mobile, Ala., which could allow Trump to reach Alabama voters without having to actually travel to the state and specifically rally for Moore.

Pensacola is 56 miles from Mobile, all interstate. Coming from a little further north in Alabama might take 2 - 3 hours. So yes, I fully expect Alabamians to hit town on the 8th. The ABC affiliate is here and is seen in Alabama. The CBS and NBC affilitiates from Mobile have offices over here so could have reporters cover the rally. Moore will get support without tRump ever setting foot in Alabama.

tRump came here three times during the campaign and it was here that his campaign recruited the girls “Patriot” singing/dancing group to perform at one of the rallies. If I remember correctly, they never got what they were supposed to receive for their performance. But then...that seems to be business as usual for tRump.
