Children paid for the failed Kansas tax cuts and theyll pay for the GOP tax cuts, too

Source: Think Progress

Congressional Republicans unveiled a plan Thursday to cut taxes for large corporations and wealthy individuals, transferring $1.2 trillion in benefits to corporations and estates over the next 10 years. The scheme looks a lot like the disastrous Kansas tax experiment pushed through by Gov. Sam Brownback (R) in 2012. And, like the Kansas plan, it’ll likely be paid for on the backs of children.

As ThinkProgress previously reported, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act will give corporations and wealthy business owners huge windfalls. But the tax incentives for children in low-income families remain mostly unchanged. The bill would increase the Child Tax Credit (CTC) by $600, but it is nonrefundable, which means, according to the Center for American Progress (CAP), that “lower-income families who owe little or no federal income tax do not get its full benefit.” (ThinkProgress is editorially independent of CAP.)

All of this means that the plan will likely produce massive budget deficits. The Kansas plan was not much different. Indeed, Trump’s chief tax advisers were the architects of the Kansas tax cuts.

Paul Ryan started in gov by working for Brownback. He and Brownback communicate fairly often. Of course this is like what has laid waste to my state, it is the plan.

Did major Corporations come screaming to Kansas soil to set up shop and get their 0% tax rate?? Nope but what did happen was TENS of THOUSANDS of Kansas partnerships quickly paid a bit of nothing to become an LLC or S Corp and take advantage of the rate.

No job gains,no truly "new" Corporations, just 330,000 Corporations at it's height (including KU basketball coach Bill Self) paying a ZERO percent tax rate for a total of FOUR years. What many forget about in this disaster is that we had TWO sales tax hikes foisted on us to help prop up this RAPING of poor and working people. Meanwhile back at the ranch the richest of the rich paid nothing in State income taxes while school financing was stripped bare, programs gutted and road/highway const via KDOT was STOLEN from year after year. In fact in Jan 2017 they canceled taking bids on 24 upcoming projects for 2017 for a lack of funds.

It was so bad that even Republicans FINALLY voted for repeal--many were new ones after the 2016 elections and some newly elected Dems. It's over, but it will take YEARS to recover from this mess, the same SHIT MESS that Trump is proposing.

Oh and the architect along with Brokeback,yeah....Art Laffer. No one is laughing now................
