Poll: Majority of military officers view Trump unfavorably

Source: the hill

By Max Greenwood - 10/26/17 10:33 AM EDT

A majority of U.S. military officers have an unfavorable view of President Trump, according to a survey released this week by the Military Times.

According to the poll, 53 percent of respondents said they hold an unfavorable opinion of the commander in chief, while about 31 percent said they view him favorably. Sixteen percent said they were neutral on the matter.

The findings come amid the controversy surrounding Trump's disputed call to the widow of a U.S. Army soldier killed in Niger earlier this month.

Trump sees his highest enlisted favorability ratings in the Marine Corps — 58.9 percent — and the Army — 46.3 percent. The Air Force and the Navy have the highest rate of unfavorable opinions about the president, at 38.1 percent and 39.5 percent respectively........................................

Only 3 out of 10 in the military have confidence in their Commander-In-Chief. That's very serious. Doodley Oct 2017 #5

The military is a microcosm of America.

White officers (college educated upper middle class whites) - 50/50 when it comes to democrats and republicans

Black/Hispanic officer/enlisted - democrats

White enlisted (blue collar whites with only high school diploma) - republican

Majority of the military is white enlisted so that is why it is considered pro republican

not fooled

how any military person could support a draft-dodging, ignorant blowhard, who has an agenda to wreck the VA, who is a member of the party that has repeatedly blocked better pay and benefits for soldiers, and who is bringing this country close to fighting more unnecessary wars--after the previous puke president lied the nation into the Iraq debacle--is way, way beyond me.

I guess some people just like the swaggering and posturing. Plus unpatriotic promises to beggar the nation in order to shower unneeded additional billions on the bloated, unaccountable Pentagon.

He may not be very popular among officers, but he's still fairly popular among enlisted.

Troops’ views on Trump have changed very little since he was elected last year.

if it weren't for the fact that the White House staff would be wiped out along with dipshit, I'd start a campaign right now. Not one of those Republican enablers is worth the salt in the tears I cry when I see what they're doing to our country. Fucking pieces of shit. I've been in a rare mood all day today thinking about those evil bastards.

who is in bed with the russian money mob and who pisses on America's POWs and fallen Green Berets. I mean, that republicans have picked a totally unqualified liar and cheat to be their "leader."

You can't blame the officers for disrespecting the orange assclown that the republicans "think" is a "leader." They know better. He's unfit for duty.

is absolutely thrilled to see the military leadership does not support Trump. Personally I can not stand the miserable excuse of a human being. He represents nothing of my core or my Army's core values. He is an absolute Oxygen Thief.
