Hurricane Harvey strengthens to Category 4 storm with 130 mph winds

Hurricane Harvey has strengthened to a Category 4 storm, as Texas is bracing for impact later Friday evening.
The storm, which has sustained winds of 130 mph with even stronger gusts, is expected to be the worst to hit the state in nearly two decades.
An extreme wind warning is in effect in five Texas counties. Wind gusts of over 115 mph are expected as Harvey moves ashore.

(22,651 posts)Not bad, its raining now there are breaks between the 'bands of rain'. Near the Gulf they have a lot of rain but that's typical and we're used to that.

Can see how the rain bands aren't to bad over my SSW Houston area, much heavier rain north/east side of Houston area and out in the low population counties.
