House Speaker Ryan: Congress will raise debt ceiling, has many options

Source: Reuters

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Paul Ryan said on Thursday that Congress will pass legislation to raise the federal debt ceiling, noting that lawmakers have a number of options for avoiding default.

"We will pass legislation to make sure we pay our debts and we will not hit the debt ceiling. We'll do this before the debt ceiling," Ryan said during a tax reform event at a Boeing plant in Washington state.

"There are many different options in front of us on how we achieve that," he added. "We pay our debts in this country. We will continue to do so."

No. During President Obama's 8 years, the debt ceiling standoff bullshit was some exciting stuff for the ratings whores. It's not their job to call bullshit/truth (David Gregory, Chuck Todd).

Where's the AstroTurf outrage? Where's the standoff until the budget is cut to the bone, like they campaigned on?
