Corker: Trump hasn't demonstrated the stability or competence to be successful

Source: CNN

(CNN)Sen. Bob Corker slammed President Donald Trump's handling of the racially motivated protests in Charlottesville, Virginia, charging that the President "has not demonstrated he understands the character of this nation."

The Tennessee Republican told reporters in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on Thursday that he thinks there must be "radical changes" within the White House. "The President has not yet been able to demonstrate the stability nor some of the competence that he needs to be successful," Corker said, according to a video posted by local news website Nooga.com. "He has not demonstrated that he understands what has made this nation great and what it is today, and he's got to demonstrate the characteristics of a president who understands that," Corker added.

Corker is the latest Republican senator to criticize Trump's handling of the Charlottesville protests. Trump attacked two other Republican senators — Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Jeff Flake of Arizona — on Twitter on Thursday morning over their criticisms of him.

Please don't misconstrue my statement about being "sane" with his voting records. In this context, I mean sane in the sense he's actually speaking out against the * President!

I would love to return to the days when a democrat like Al Gore was our senator, but I don't have that luxury currently. I'm just saying, thankfully, even a RW senator has the sense to see through Trumps BS...and that is a win.

I have seen things that some repugs have already been talking
with other repugs that Trump is mentally unfit for office.

e.g. all of the NY-based journalists who had covered dump for decades and had loads of information about him? That the teevee "news" shows gave scant airtime to, while extensively covering dump's spectacles and utterances?

And David Cay Johnston, who literally wrote the book on dump? Who had all sorts of info on dump's manifest unsuitability for the presidency plus dump's mob connections, unsavory (and worse) conduct, etc. etc. etc.?

And the guy who "co" wrote The Art of the Deal? Who said the same thing--no way should this guy be president?

The truth was out there. The teevee poobahs didn't want to listen.
