North Korea says can't argue with Trump, will fire at Guam in August

Beijing: North Korea's military commander has said a missile will be fired at Guam by mid August after Donald Trump's "fire and fury" comment shows "sound dialogue is not possible with such a guy bereft of reason and only absolute force can work on him".
The statement released by North Korean state media on Thursday morning came hours after US Secretary of Defence James Mattis warned North Korea not to invite the destruction of its people.
General Mattis said the "combined allied militaries now possess the most precise, rehearsed, and robust defensive and offensive capabilities on Earth", and North Korea's capabilities were "grossly overmatched by ours".
China's People's Daily was among the world media reporting on the latest North Korean threat, highlighting the statement had said that implementation of the Guam attack would depend on a later decision by North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

(1,297 posts)Not language used by DPRK officials. "The Age"? The age of what? Click on their website, and it seems every other story has the word guy in it.

(17,200 posts)But all the 'Guy' references in The Age are to our state opposition leader, Matthew GUY, a right winger. He's been caught having an expensive lunch with a Mafia figure. Sort of fitting, dontcha think?

And, indeed, the official North Korean News Agency - I love this language:
It seems that he has not yet understood the statement.
Sound dialogue is not possible with such a guy bereft of reason and only absolute force can work on him. This is the judgment made by the service personnel of the KPA Strategic Force.
The military action the KPA is about to take will be an effective remedy for restraining the frantic moves of the U.S. in the southern part of the Korean peninsula and its vicinity.

(11,686 posts)verbally there has been some insults and these two dripping pieces of shit want to start WW3 over that?
On several levels if a nuke is used ANYWHERE it is going to affect the whole planet and not just the factor of all other nations but our environment and I do not know if any of these stupid dictators realize they will be effecting themselves when the radiation floats back to their land.

(19,204 posts)they're both afflicted with toxic narcissist's syndrome, and at least one of them has a diet that's not conducive to healthy mental and physical well being. Neither can take a joke, and neither will back down from a threat, real or imagined. Instead of talking problems over with each other - like grownups - they'll resort to all sorts of childish means to settle an argument; name calling, seeing who can fling their poo the farthest, dick measuring (although neither can be measured by standard methods, micro-measurements are the order of the day here), and the old standby, "I know YOU are, but what am I". Both believe they've attained their position in life by the graces of some mythical, magical being, so rational arguments will not produce the desired effects of diffusing their personalities.
Both are said to possess nuclear weapons though, so the childish insults thrown at each other could escalate into a nuclear holocaust, should clearer heads not prevail in their respective governments.
In conclusion, both of these "leaders" (used only in the loosest sense of the word) have the combined intelligence of a malathion soaked fruit-fly, and should be removed from their respective offices by any means necessary. The future of the planet may depend on it.

(10,882 posts)We've had over 500 atmospheric nuclear detonations already you know.
In total nuclear test megatonnage, from 194592, 520 atmospheric nuclear explosions (including 8 underwater) have been conducted with a total yield of 545 megatons, with a peak occurring in 1961-62, when 340 megatons were detonated in the atmosphere by the United States and Soviet Union.

(19,204 posts)registered voters. He's bordering on being as popular as genital herpes, although there are drugs that can CONTROL genital herpes. No such drug exists to control the orange shit-cannon who calls himself "president". THIS is his why his haste to blow up our home planet takes on such urgency. Wiping out the planet will ensure there are no history books written to record his abysmal life and presidency.
That's my take on it, anyway.

(839 posts)How do we even know? Because some unidentified source said so? Are the UN Inspectors in there? Scott Ritter?
After the Cold War ended we found out those gigantic missiles that were trucked down Red Square during those lavish Soviet military parades were made from cardboard.
This is scary because up until now, cooler, more human heads prevailed.
