BRENTWOOD, N.Y. Talking tough on illegal immigration and violent crime, President Donald Trump appeared Friday to advocate rougher treatment of people in police custody, speaking dismissively of arresting officers who protect the heads of handcuffed suspects while putting them in patrol cars.
Dont be too nice, said Trump. He visited Suffolk County, New York, to highlight administration efforts to crack down on illegal immigration and violent crime, and in particular the street gang known as MS-13, which has terrorized communities on Long Island and in other parts of the country.
The president urged Congress to find money to pay for 10,000 Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers so that we can eliminate MS-13.

(2,771 posts)Obama: If I had a son he would look like Trayvon Martin
Their reaction: he hates the police, blue lives matter, every black and brown person suspected of anything is a thug, yada, yada, yada
45*: When you see these towns and when you see these thugs being thrown into the back of a paddy wagon, you just see them thrown in, rough, and I said, Please dont be too nice,....... and the police there are exuberant about this as he uses the dog-whistle terminology for their preferred choice of victim while actively stoking the same divisions the same people who are applauding now complained so loudly about in Obama's statement.
Their reaction: nothing, nothing at all, and there will be nothing.
I'm tired of all of this as well.

(2,771 posts)is to not become discouraged, not to let them force us into tacit acceptance and to keep the spot light on those roachy mf'ers. However it's done calls, protests, town halls, whatever. At no point can we think it's just going to get better. It's not because they don't want anything better than what we have right now. Infact it seems like they would be alright if everything regressed into something far worse.

Asking for a friend.
