DEUTSCHE BANK IS TURNING OVER INFORMATION ON TRUMP

Source: Vanity Fair

Among the many mysteries surrounding Donald Trump’s finances as a real-estate mogul—and the conflicts of interest that might be revealed by his tax returns, were he ever to release them—is his long history of debt. The issue is not merely what Trump owes, but who he owes. As critics noted on the campaign trail, Trump’s habit of reneging on contracts and suing his lenders meant that virtually nobody on Wall Street wanted to work with him, with one exception: Deutsche Bank, which had loaned him hundreds of millions of dollars when no one else would, even after he sued the firm. Now, investigators probing the ties between the Trump campaign and Russia are wondering why—and they’re beginning to take a closer look at the president’s accounts with his favorite bank, which also happens to have strong ties to Russia itself.

We'll see who lent him money or co-signed his loans. Maybe we'll get to see what property he owns.
We already know that he's defaulted several times, and declared bankruptcy 5 or 6 times.

So the bank probably will have income/asset declarations from him, but not necessarily IRS forms.
We'll see.

While the Trumps didn't pay their bills, the Kushners had collections lawyers going after poor people and Section 8 housing people who lived in the Kushner slums, aggressively, when often the people didn’t even owe them money. They would roll some ding, often fabricated, over for years, adding fees, interest, and attorney fees.

If Trump takes that fatal step you'll see the flood gates open from the intelligence communities. And they have it all. Mueller is playing by the rules by not using info from them. He's going the legal route as he should. The intel folk have ways of 'leaking' that can't be detected. Trump is as dead in the water as the Titanic. He just can't bring himself to cope with it. I hope this allays your fears. And will someone please notify Grammarly that 'folk' is plural.

Even for money laundering (assuming a bank is in this biz) a bank requires some sort of "valuation of property" being borrowed against. Here's WHY tRUMP doesn't want his taxes revealed. He values and declares to the bank a tRUMP property, say golf course, at 1 billion US $. They loan against that value and may or may not use it as collateral. tRUMP values the same property at 100 Million $ US for tax purposes to reduce exposure. That's fraud=jail time and immediate call in of loans. Right or totally wrong?

61. That might be true for a collateralized loan, but not an investment
Thu Jul 20, 2017, 07:22 PM
Jul 2017

That is part of the reason that DB is in financial straits. They are not just asking half a point on a loan, they rolled the dice looking for the big win. It is essentially the junk bond strategy, if you roll the dice once, your odds of getting 7 are fairly low, roll it a million times and your odds of getting 7 are close to 100%. Or to put it in Trump terms, start a thousand businesses, if 10 go bankrupt, you are still ahead.

It is not a concept unique to financial companies. 80% of restaurants do not last 5 years, people, really stupid people, and their bankers and creditors, keep putting money into them. I am sure that tech startups are similar, no shortage of Shark Tanks throwing money at them.

They do not just act as bankers on the deal. As part of their "fee", they participate as investors, at EXTREMELY favorable terms, terms that you or I will never see. Of course they can lose money on a deal. But mitigate the risk by doing a thousand deals, and losing your pants on 10 is no longer a problem. Unless you were some junior exec and and that was your only deal. Then you are unemployed and broke.

Those two business models are light years apart. One is fraud, the other is getting a company's leverage under control and new (better?) management in place to make it as successful as it should be, but isn't at the time.

What's being described above is taking of fees and getting favorable pricing in exchange for loans that aren't fully supported by actual economic value. That's double dipping and it's shady financing.

Buffet isn't employing those tactics.

66. Not quite
Thu Jul 20, 2017, 07:42 PM
Jul 2017

Two problems. First of all, the IRS taxes income not property or net worth. So the valuations of the property won't be in the tax return. However, income generated from the property will be in the return, and that can be used to appraise the property. Second, valuation is an opinion of a property's worth. IRS and the bank don't have to have the same opinion. But since the bank uses income to value the property, if he reported a different income from the property to the IRS than he did to the bank, then that would be either tax cheating or fraud.

The Trump loans were not part of that finding of money laundering, I think, but it seems to me that was still investigated.

BUT they were investigating for a specific money laundering thing, so maybe weren't looking at the Trump loans for the same thing that Mueller would be. So Mueller can get those investigation papers and get a head start, instead of starting from scratch.

Then comes the orange-headed Destroyer-of-Worlds who shits all over NATO, the Pope, and - Angela Merkle. Angela has a heart-to-heart with her intelligence peeps and says: "Get that data!"

They do; perhaps with some incriminating info on Deutsche Bank executives, but they get it. I think Mueller already has that data.

(Adjusts his tin-foil hat again) I also think think the British, French, German, Israeli, Italian intelligence agencies HATE Trump, fear his stupidity, don't trust him with their intel, and want him gone. One of these days, something will come sailing over the transom at the NY Times, WaPo, London Times, etc., and that will remove the last pebble holding back the boulder.
