You see, Trump used to be a successful businessman given you ignore all the bankruptcies and lawsuits and did many investments through a company called Bayrock. Guess where this Pokémon-sounding investment company is headquartered? Tax Haven Holland!
Oh, and ZEMBLA has all the little receipts its pure money laundering, by setting up in the Netherlands in 2007, it laundered $1,5 million dollars. And the company is in hot water already, the State of New York is doing investigations into their tax fraud, large scale tax fraud and Donald is a key figure. According to attorney F. Oberlander prosecuting on behalf of New York State the maximum jail term could be as long as 30 years! But it doesnt end there! Theres more! This was just the appetizer!

(19,204 posts)I'm not sure if this is a reputable source, I've never heard of it until now, but that means little. I'm unacquainted with many foreign news sources. I'd certainly LIKE IT to be true! Anything we can hang on the tRump crime family is music to my ears.

(17,984 posts)This is from Dailykos: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2017/5/3/1658665/-Netherlands-Media-Hot-on-Trail-of-Trump-s-Links-to-Money-Laundering
Now, my favorite part of this article is the response that ZEMBLA got from Bayrock. The company wanted to make it clear that the Dutch corporate construction was established on the advice of an external legal counsel. Now
. get ready
. that just happens to be the firm known as Bracewell & Giuliani. YES!!! Rudy Giuliani, the former mayor of New York, and part owner of the law firm at the time, is now linked to this scheme.

(18,641 posts)But what if the New York State finds Trump deep in the middle of a money laundering scheme?
They can indict him but do they have any power to enforce the indictment?
What if he ignores it and the Republican Congress joins him in ignoring it as they are certain to do?
Nobody can arrest him and physically he has the Secret Service to protect him.
I don't have faith that any criminality will be enough to bring him down as long as the Republicans surround and protect him.
Only if Democrats regain power in 2018 will any justice be served.
And to make things even scarier, Trump is now openly organizing a massive rigging of future elections, backed, of course, by the Republicans.
I still think our best hope is for the amazing incompetence in all areas at the top of government right now topples over onto itself.
Then the courts will be able to walk all over these gangsters.

(26,332 posts)and won every single Senate seat thats up for grabs (which is doubtful) they wouldnt have anywhere near enough to impeach as there simply arent enough Repugnant held Senate seats up for grabs so they would need the Repugnants to get on board with impeachment still.
Thats not to say regaining the majority isnt important though because with enough seats they can blunt alot of what Trump wants to do plus they can maybe appoint an independent investigator to find the truth over what Russia was doing and with whom it was doing it with which is something the Repugnants are still stonewalling.

(18,641 posts)But you're right.
The maximum Democratic Senate seats would be 57 and that's if they won every single Democratic and Republican race.
We'd need 67 votes to convict.
So we are absolutely stuck with an idiot, and possibly criminally convicted president for the full 4 years because that's what the Republicans want.

We can't count on impeachment. We know his party will continue to protect him.
