Obama: Looking At You Now, Boehner
DAVID KURTZ JULY 25, 2012, 5:59 PM 577
Statement from President Obama on the Senate vote:
With the Senates vote, the House Republicans are now the only people left in Washington holding hostage the middle-class tax cuts for 98% of Americans and nearly every small business owner. The last thing a typical middle class family can afford is a $2,200 tax hike at the beginning of next year. Its time for House Republicans to drop their demand for another $1 trillion giveaway to the wealthiest Americans and give our families and small businesses the financial security and certainty that they need. Our economy isnt built from the top-down, its built from a strong and growing middle class, and thats who we should be fighting for.

(4,113 posts)while the middle class lost wealth. It's time for the elite to pay.
More importantly, it's time to reconstruct the system that enabled this displacement of wealth to happen.
Bringing back Glass-Steagall would be a start.
I believe. You may also have meant reconstruct the system that kept this from happening (i.e. go back to the post WWII/pre-Reaganomics era of prosperity and growth for the middle class)

(40,416 posts)Let us all hope he can get it through the House.
However, if he doesn't, that may become a campaign issue for November.
I smell yet another Obama rope-a-dope.

(48 posts)funny... Tom Hartman has been yelling about this for months now...too bad he doesn't go big time and educate the rest of the USA..maybe there are those that truly hate the truth and would never allow someone like Tom to be in the front line and speak for US...

(11,833 posts)a House that's free from the death grip of representatives who want to transfer another trillion dollars from the middle class to the top 2%. Supply side = misery. Defeat tea baggers this November.
