Vice President Mike Pence on Sunday described North Korea's failure to launch a missile earlier the same day as a "provocation."
"This morning's provocation from the north is just the latest reminder of the risks each one of you face each and every day," Pence said per a travel pool report, speaking at an Easter dinner at Yongsan military base in South Korea.
He said that the United States' "resolve has never been stronger" than under President Donald Trump's administration. "Our commitment to this historic alliance with the courageous people of South Korea has never been stronger," Pence said.
A North Korean missile exploded earlier Sunday during launch, according to U.S. and South Korean officials.

North Korean test missile 'fizzles' hours before Pence arrives in South
By Roberta Rampton and Sue-Lin Wong | SEOUL/PYONGYANG
A North Korean missile "blew up almost immediately" on its test launch on Sunday, the U.S. Pacific Command said, hours before U.S. Vice President Mike Pence landed in South Korea for talks on the North's increasingly defiant arms program.
The failed launch from North Korea's east coast, ignoring repeated admonitions from major ally China, came a day after North Korea held a grand military parade in its capital, marking the birth anniversary of the state founder, displaying what appeared to be new long-range ballistic missiles.
U.S. President Donald Trump acknowledged China's help with the North Korean issue on Sunday, linking it to a softer line taken on China's management of its currency.
"Why would I call China a currency manipulator when they are working with us on the North Korean problem? We will see what happens!" Trump said on Twitter. Trump has backed away from a campaign promise to label China in that way.

(30,825 posts)The worry is that Trump is very easily provoked into hasty and overblown responses. I would hate to think Pence's remark is the start of a mantra, such as that that led up to the Iraq invasion, to convince Americans that war is the answer.

(13,485 posts)wants the provocation. This is a sign of the return of Christ to him. The sooner they get enough of a reaction from Kim or anyne else, the sooner they can retaliate thus beginning WWIII/armageddon and behold... Christ returns to reign on earth for a thousand years...
Or not....
Pense and his dominionist cult clan are nuts.

(90,803 posts)If a failed missile strike is provocation, then calling a bomb "Mother" must be downright conflicting to the man who refers to his wife as Mother.
Don't make Mother explode. Mikey doesn't like Mother when she gets angry. So much thrust. So much power.
Pence Motel. Women check-in and Mikey immediately begins to strip them of their rights. (and calling them Mother)

You'll find me in aisle 5. That's where they keep the snark. Not to be confused with Lewis Carroll's Snark or the U.S. missile known as the Snark, or, if you prefer - the Northrop SM-62.
